That they can play both sides of the ball which surprises me because I have never seen this kind of defensive side of them or any indication that they could do such as I have seen many of games where their defense has been less than desirable in most cases.
Right?

I think it was more of Darnold being terrible tonight than the Lions defense suddenly being great. Anzalone made a huge difference tonight and maybe if they get a few pieces back, they can go to the Superbowl. But I think Eagles are still team to beat in NFC. Lions had been giving up over 30 PPG last few weeks until Jets version of Darnold appeared tonight.

They haven't played defense like that since the 1st month of the season. Darnold did not play well, but shockingly, Addison, Jefferson, and Hockenson were covered most of the night.

Yes Darnold definitely was hurried, rushed, pressured and forced to throw early and cause of it lost the game big.
But still out of character from a team that possessed mostly offense throughout the season and as of late.
But with this kind of adjustment that the lions displayed tonight if it continues going forward they might just be punching their ticket to the big show in a big way.

The defense was really impressive for first part of the season. The group you saw tonight was missing like 8 guys. Anzalone back but then lost Arnold… Theyre not this good imo Darnold just blows
Campbell said the xrays were negative on Terrion Arnold's foot and he is quoted as saying 'I'm playing'. He is wearing a walking boot now. Am hoping for a few other Lions' linemen to be back. If any team needed a bye week, it is Detroit.

Detroit gave up 6+ yard per rush. Had Kevin OConnell not outsmarted himself and ran the ball even 50/50, the Lions would have been in trouble. Terrible game plan by Vikings. Detroit is gonna get smacked by Philly. Par for the course for the Vikings. They are a choker organization.

They gave up six yards a rush last night. That doesn’t concern you? Saquan will have a field day with that defense.

As we speak the lions are the favorites to win the Superbowl at a +300 the eagles are double that at a +600
I was all gun hoe with Philadelphia especially Barkleys performance against the cowboys ...but that was the Cowboys.
Now the lions played a top of the league defense last night and manhandled them just the same.
This lions team is for real and have learned a lot from last year and if they continue to get key players back and healthy with the needed rest...watch out!

Not at all. You’re blinded by box scores. They had one nice run of 58 yards. Other than that they averaged just over 3 yards per carry the other 18 Carries which is a better indicator than one play.

It appears that we have several Eagle backers in this thread and if that's the case and in your eyes the Eagles are going to the big show then by all means grab yourself that +600 and good luck.
Are they contenders?.... Absolutely!
Could they make the Superbowl?..... Absolutely!
Could they win the Superbowl? If they get there... Absolutely!
Could the Packers beat them if they are clicking on all cylinders?........ Absolutely!

But it shows you how strong the Lions coaching intangibles are. The motivational levels of this Lions team are at 100% it seems like every frigin week. It's hard to handicap that.
I have stopped looking for reasons to bet against this team a while ago.
Their coordinators are doing all the strategic stuff, and doing it at extraordinary levels. Dan Campbell is and has been doing the ra ra stuff the entire time, and never lets up in that department.
If you think that Campbell is an idiot going for 4th down all the time, then he's a 15-2 idiot who clinched the #1 seed. All while losing players to injury more than other teams.
If you thought that Campbell was an idiot for playing starters vs the 49ers, it looks like that didn't matter at all last night.
You have to appreciate this team. They are fun as heck to watch.
To steer the topic back to the thread title...Can the Lions D replicate this kind of play through the rest of the playoffs? Probably not, but they could have another good one. Tough to tell. But you can bet your bottom dollar that if the defense lets up for a game, the offense or special teams, or coaching will somehow pick them up and keep em in the game. That's what they've done all year.

This is a good point. Without Alim McNeil at DT for the Lions, it will be a tough task for the Lions should they meet.

This whole forum is such a joke sometimes. Before the Lions lost to the Bills everyone had them carrying home the Lombardi trophy. Then they lose by 6 pts to Buffalo and were actually driving for the go ahead touchdown but lost 48-42. Next day almost everyone broke their ankles jumping off the Lions bandwagon. Campbell said look we won 11 games in a row then lost last night. We are not going to win another 11 games in a row for the rest of this year but we don't have to all we have to do is win 6 or 7 in a row. So they start getting their defensive players back and although undermysac thinks its a big deal losing Alim McNeil for the rest of the year (and it hurts) they got a huge pc back last night in the form of Alex Anzalone and lifted the spirits of the entire defense. Now all the bandwagon fans who jumped off the wagon want back on but Campbell said at the time all you bandwagon fans who jumped off the wagon you can stay off we don't fukin want you back. Knuckles Montgomery will be back for the first game of the playoffs and Craig Reynolds who filled in for him is going to move to WR and he is great in either position. I will run off all the talent on the Eagles Barkley Brown Hurts help me out i'm having trouble here can the Packers beat them absolutley.

WEEK 1 of the regular season at the EAGLES 34 PACKERS 29. Yes it was the first game of the schedule and both teams have improved since then but the Packers Eagles game going to be a real close game and Packers can easily pull off the victory. I know I would rather see the Lions face the Eagles than the Packers at some point.

Green bay with 4.5 points are worth some attention one would think including myself and thrown into a teaser at a +10.5 seems to be solid as a blowout is something that I really don't see here.

Havent seen many Lions games except for one. I thought losing Hutchinson would be a huge blow to their defense but they're doing exceptional. Offense is phenomenal. Much improved compared to last year. Think the defensive improvement has also been part of the reason. They're a fun team to root for. It's crazy to see the NFC North doing so well this year , hard to tell if it's just a fluke but no doubt Lions are contenders not sure about the Vikings and Packers though lol.
Sip on that plus money honey!
