Don't know about you guys but I knew right away when they didn' t get the first down before the Vinatieri field goal it was there for the taking.
Aside from hindsight being 20/20 - isn't it better to go for it on 4th down in that scenario? At least you are putting the ball in the hands of your best player..... ???

I have watched every single colts game and i will tell you he is a terrible coach, He is an awful game manager and if this team didn't have manning they would have been 3-13 this season at best. He is not the reason this team has so many wins. Peyton Manning is.
I have watched every Colts game too and I agree....Colts are a 2-4 win team without Manning. Especially this year with all the injuries. Caldwell gave the Jets a timeout to devise the play to Edwards and then he didn't have a timeout to ice thre kicker. I don't think it would have been as easy of a kick without the timeout.
40 yards plus....

Big mistake is an understatement... that timeout was moronic, idiotic, asinine... whatever you want to call it.
The Jets might have still won the game but the timeout was called on 2nd down with 29 seconds left or something... I can't see how the timeout made sense in any possible way... the jets were going to run the clock down regardless and would not leave any time for the Colts to have a chance for a hail mary..
but the timeout allowed Sanchez to get a breather and SET UP A PLAY... that pass after the timeout was huge... but who knows what would have happened...

How can you even question that? You have to kickthe FG to take the lead.Special teams arent suppose to give uop a 45 yd return and th defense played terrible in the last 40 sec and the 2nd half for that matter

Caldwell proved last year that he enjoys losing when he threw the Jets game that ruined the Colts perfect season.

that's exactly what i mean- the defense was not stopping anything in the 2nd half. especially the run game up the middle which is usually the sign of death when you can't stop that...
maybe just me - but my choice is putting the ball in my best player's hands as opposed to relying on the D
and it was a 50 yarder not a chip shot - mind you its Vinatieri of course
i agree the return was very good though but they didn't seem to have any trouble getting the yards anyway

Would have liked to see a drive for the end zone when they were on the 15 yard line on the 4th. Settling for a FG to me showed a lack of faith, musmanagement of the clock just exasperated the decision.

agreed with you 100% here.. down by 4 with 5 mins left and down at the 15.. why kick the fg, considering you defence hasn't made a stop all second half.. basically saying you trust your defence more than your best player.. even if you don't make it, if you trust you defence that much, you got them pin deep.. caldwell is a moron.. how he is the head coach is beyond me..
