Got to love people who click on a thread just to hate on it w/o even trying to answer the question. Guess what we don't have to talk about it! Anymore than we don't have to talk about how hot some players mom is or any of the other million irrelevant posts that go through this forum daily.
Vick is flat out the best running QB in history. With him you have to count total yards not just passing, same as with Tebow in college. He is not a great passer but he showed flashes of improving, such as throwing 7 TDs in two weeks a few seasons ago, one of those games being against the Steelers' D....
Never had any good receivers. Had a good TE and often found him. He is an enigma and I also am curious as to where he will sign. Why? Because I love how running QBs can screw everything else up for a D. I think they are good for the game because they add a new dimension.
He will come out of prison out of shape? How can you know that? A lot of guys come out of prison in the best shape of their lives because there is nothing else to do but work out.
I would guess Detroit. They are desperate enough. Raiders might try Russel a bit longer and Minnesota already has a running QB in Jackson, even though I think Vick is a notch above him in total overall talent. If he is converted to another position I think that would be the end of him because his elusiveness seems best suited for the QB position where he will often have wide open lanes no matter how bad his passing is.

He comes to my Seahawks!!! Since Jim Mora IS going to be the new head coach ....and Hasselbeck is gettin there....and Seneca...well...him and Vick are about the same...both have legs, but cant throw with much accuracy. So who knows who would even start.

Burningplanet, so vick Never had any good receivers? was that the problem?
i love this argument although it's only made by people who know nothing about football. vick had roddy white who was a first round pick and is now a pro bowl receiver with a rookie QB. he had michael jenkins who was a first round pick whose yardage improved by almost 50% with a rookie QB after vick. he had alge crumpler who was one of the best tight ends in the league. he had peerless price who had over 1200 yards and 9 TD's with an old drew bledsoe as his QB the year before playing with vick. he had warrick dunn who is one of the better pass catching RB's in the game whose receiving production went way down after he came to atlanta from tampa.
but yeah, vick was a great passer. he just didn't have anyone to throw to and somehow all of these receivers who were doing so well before coming to atlanta coincidentally forgot how to catch when vick was throwing the ball. good point.

Dude are you serious?? It doesnt matter how big a headache he is, how out of shape he is, he's still twice as talented as more than half the qbs in the league. This isn't college fb sooner boy, its the nfl were dollars are the bottom line and he will bring any team in the nfl revenue. wake up.
just because he can run doesnt make him a good QB. find me one successful run first QB in the NFL...i'll wait for a reply as you'll never find one
vick was and will always be a terrible QB on the pro level
and if you think PETA and other animal rights groups wont protest him everyday you're wrong
if he never plays football again, it would be too soon to me. he is the lowest of the low and a terrible QB to boot

if you think Vick brings dollars then you're quite wrong. there isnt one person in this country that pays face value on a ticket to see a backup qb or a special teams player. vick is nothing more than that

i dream of him and Cutler sharing the backfield in Denver --
would that be sick -- wildcat -- short yardage and red zone situations denver would automatically skyrocket to the front of the league in these categories
Anyway -- could you imagine cultler and vick on the same team
I know this WILL NOT HAPPEN but damn -- I have sat around and daydreamed
What if ??.......

vick was a great college player and a good madden video game player
he may be a very good football player but he is not, nor will he ever be a quality NFL quarterback
arthur blank drafted him to sell seats and he did...then monte kiffin built a defense around fast linebackers to stop their run game and that worked to perfection (TB always beat Atl)

Yes Vick has a terrrible QB rating but he still somehow won games and put butts in the seats. He did beat Brett Farve when Farve was still in his prime at Lambeu Field in a playoff game.
And I can't explain how all of a sudden Roddy White and Michael Jenkins are living up to the potential they had coming out of college cause when Vick did throw an accurate pass to them they would often drop it. I guess Matt Ryan trhrows a softer ball than Vick?
And as we all seen in last weeks playoff loss to Arizona Roddy White did drop at least 3 passes that hit him in the hands that could have kept drives alive for Atlanta.
Is Vick a top 10 QB? No he's not. I would place him in the next range of 15 to 20. He did go through several coaching changes including offensive coordinators that tried to change him into a pocket passer.
Vick is a run first pass second type of QB. He had a horrible offensive line. Average running game. And very inconsistant WR's. And yes Vick was also inconsistant a lot of times. He was bad at reading defenses. Would take off running instead of letting the play develope. Lacked touch on short to mid range routes and so on so forth. But at the end of the day he won more games than he lost.
I hope he gets a second chance.

See statements like this make me laugh and should not really be said -- you could say Vick struggled against Tampa Bay
but who doesn't
and for the record --
2002 -- Tampa 20 Falcons 6 / Falcons 10 Bucs 34
2003 -- Bucs 31 Falcons 10 / Falcons 30 Bucs 28
2004 -- Bucs 14 Falcons 24 / Bucs 27 Falcons 0
2005 -- Bucs 30 Falcons 27 / Falcons 24 Bucs 27
2006 -- Bucs 3 Falcons 14 / Falcons 17 Bucs 6

jerry jones likes to take chances on misfits like pacman jones, terrell owens etc, so i think he will sign vick to at least put the pressure on romo to perform when it counts or sit your ass on the bench! that dumb blonde jessica simpson has got this kid "whipped" and now he's more concerned about "love" rather than the "love" of the game! sucker for love!!!

Jerry Jones has gambled and lost ot many times already ( Owens, Tank Johnson, Adam Jones, Roy Williams ) and he's gotten zero results from these guys, or should I say, no playoff wins. Jones may want to look at Vick, but I seriously doubt it.

Jerry Jones has no shame, he will do anything he thinks will get his team into the playoffs. I am sure he takes it as a personal affront when they do not. Vick will not sign anywhere in 2009, IMO. He will still be on suspension, I hope. I don't care if he never plays again. He blew it big time. Money, reputation, prestige. He had it all and blew it. Not that I didn't make mistakes when I was younger but I never screwed up like he did.

Miami. Perfect for the wildcat offense. Vick will not be a quarterback IMO in the future...more of an Antwan Randle El type of hybrid player. Miami is already the leader in having this type of offense. He's not going to go to a team that already sells out every game (Dallas)...he's going to go to a team that is struggling with the fans to try and boost the support, and possibly get a new stadium, etc. Here are my predictions....
1. Miami
2. Oakland
3. Detroit

Wow... Just wish I could live in the rose colored, blue sky ... Wizard of Oz world you live in... The lowest of the low ??? so you rank killing dogs lower then killing HUMAN BEINGS.. ( Leonard Little)... Or the beat down of women by numerous NFL players(take your pick) who are now playing ?? Really ? Let me say I own two labs but given the choice between some player killing on of them or beating down my daughter .. Well I will break bread with the dog killer first.. People who put that much value in their dog or pet have not had any REAL life tradgies occur to them.. Good for you but many of us have maybe thats why we hold human feelings and disgressions just a little bit higer then dog abuse.. Love my dogs ... But I live in the real world with real violence and hurt..I rank humans ahead of all animals.. The lowest of low...... Part 2... " Vick is a terrible QB" ... Step away from the dog and stop petting him on the head during NFL games...... Vick was not great or a good NFL QB.. But terrible.. Get real.. Take a look at the state of NFL QB's that start today.. Lets not even get into the backups.. Vick at his moments that 95% of QB's never had.. Was he a good QB ...NO!!!!.. But terrible.. PLEASE.. Tavaris Jackson could not carry Vicks jock strap in HS.. CFB... NFL..PEE WEE.. JR HIGH SCHOOL .. Average at best but a long way from terrible.. And trust me NFL owners and fans are not afraid of PETA..... Ask the Masters about support groups.. I have to go feed the dogs I love those guys.. ALMOST as much as I cherish HUMAN interaction..
