I agree with you on this game. Most of the week, I was thinking(gut feeling) that the Cowboys were ripe for a small upset, but the more I look at this game, I'm thinking that less and less.
I'm from the NY area, and familiar with the Jets, and THIS is the spot where the Jets seem to continually blow things and screw up their season. It happened a few times under Rex, and there was a good article in the Daily News a few days ago comparing this season to their (I think 2012) season. Jets were rising high and on a roll. Got to 8-5 after a 3 game win streak that looking at points per game, and yards per game, the opponents they played, and it was EERILY familiar to what they are doing this season. Then week 15 same situation. Road chalk to a broken down team and they lost and led them to missing the playoffs.
Article made a lot of sense, but the more I look into the game....I just don't see it. Dallas has a scrappy little defense but that offense is putrid. Cassel just can't do anything. The Jets run defense should control anything Dallas can put together on the ground in the name of them having any kind of offense at all, and even if Fitz struggles...can still see them grinding out a 17-10 or 20-10 kind of sloppy win.
Another thing is Bowles and his regime. This guy has a really good mindset and I don't believe he's the game saying "what's he's supposed to" in his press conferences. The usual "we look at games one at a time" or "Dallas is an excellent football team we can't look past" or "we are not looking past Dallas at Buf and NE weeks 16-17." When he says I got my guys ready for this and there will be no chance of us sh1tting the bed and we MUST win all three games to make the playoffs.....I believe him. I think he's the real deal and he has this team ready to come out and take care of business. After a horrible stretch, he kept them focused. After a wild comeback over the Giants, they hosted Tennessee and they came to PLAY. And after dismantling Tennessee last week in a total rout, I think they come out and take care of business again tonight.
GL buddy. Great to see u posting!

How about the fact that the QBs essentially are the same ,Dallas has a better RB then the one style Ivory ,definatle not worse, Whos the better receiver Dez ,? If not Even for sure. How about the Jets strongest point the D line ,well they could be negated with Dallas strongest part the O Line .. which team put the Jets in a easy no brainner road win team ,whos ATS record last 2 years as fav is terrible as road fav is worse . Just sayin ist still the Jets with not one quality win yet

Seems like this forum lately has been developing a healthy divide between the "script/fade the public guys" vs the "straight #'s cappers"
All year I've seen public plays win and lose. I've seen dogs get smashed by favs and visa versa.
If anyone here knows about "variance" it's at an all time high this year.
At the end we all hopefully finish between 50-60% no matter what your style of capping is. Remember it's us vs the books fellas.
In my opinion the Jets should beat the Cowboys tonight by all the #'s presented, and the matchups on the field. What happens in the end we will see.
We should do an honest and logical re cap of the game on this thread afterwards, w/ out any bias that reflects what your opinion was before the game started. That would be nice for a change.

QB Passer Rating.........................
Fitz 89.8
Cassel 73.1
Fitz way better by 16.1
Defensive Passer Rating....................
Jets 81.3
Boys 91.2
Jets out play opps by 8.5 while Boys get out-played by 18.1 that's a huge 26.6 difference.
I wouldn't call the QB even.............................
Jets may not have a quality win but why would that make any difference when they don't play a quality team.

It's a must win game for them, Jets are shaky on the road at 3-3 and coming off a lucky road win in their last road game against the Giants, they are due to lose this one today.
On the flipside, Dallas is due for a solid defensive game at home. Dallas has been giving up lots of points at home this year, compared to on the road. You would figure that would turn around today when their backs are truly against the wall.
Jets have never won on the road by more than 13 pts, so that is less than 2 TD's which indicates this score will be close.
Even with all this, I am still scared to tease Dallas to +13.5 lol
Teams are known for busting back to back weeks.
But one more small case for dallas....They are in a W, L, W, L, streak so that says they will get the W today if that pattern keeps up.
You say Boys give-up alot of points at home but are due to turn that around, then you say Jets are shaky on the road so they should lose this game,, why wouldn't they be due to turn that around ?
Why is one team due to turn around an established run but the other team is to continue what they established ?
Then you say Boys W L W L and that should continue ? Why wouldn't it turn around ?
All you did was bend and twist the info to fit what you wanted it to say.

13 of 15 touts who have this game on their releases are on the Jets. Should that matter? No, but it's enough to make me not want to play either side in this game when 80% of the bets are taking New York as well.
This is a classic public vs. the linemakers game. Neither side always wins, but you know who usually gets the better end of the battle.

Always like reading your posts. You keep it simple with breakdowns and when you post your picks you are usually on winning side. Jets are my team and there is different feeling that I haven't seen since Pennington moss Coles chrebet were tearing defenses up in 2002. With that said we have maybe best wr tandem in nfl, boles has been pushing right buttons at right time by challenging his players. Only thing I fear tonight is Witten getting busy down the seam. Lastly, jets can turn into pumpkins. It seems no matter the coach, no matter the team, they fail in a huge way.

Not many logical reasons to take Dallas, no doubt, but I do smell a rat here, however faint it may be. If Dallas is going to have a chance to win, my rationale would be that Ryan Fitzpatrick could struggle, and if the Cowboys take care of the ball, they could be in a position to win in the 4th quarter. One of those plays just big enough to keep my interest. I already teased the 'Boys with Utah and New Mexico today, +9.5, so I took 'em to win @ +165. Call me crazy, wouldn't be the first time or the last. GL Andarmac

I had Cowboys +3.5 and the under 42 for the contest on here. About time I hit both sides in a game. I know the Cowboys have been playing hard on defense and figured that it could be a tight game in the 4th. Probably got lucky but whatever.

I never bet the jets but last night screw the spread took them on ML. Jets tried everything in their power to give game away. Jets are overrated even with top 10 D and top 10 O. They start slow, playing uninspired football. If there was more time in game I believe that jets would of made kellen Moore next coming of Montana. With that said, can't see how jets win next week. Oh btw pick up Bilal Powell on fantasy. He should be nasty for you in 0layoffs

If you told me coming into the game Dallas would have 15 first downs, 300 yards, go 2-11 on 3rd down, were out-possessed by almost 5 minutes and commit 4 TO I would not have been surprised and said the Jets would have covered. Still think the Jets are +EV here long term. But congrats to those who took 3.5.

Good man to come back. I was laughing to myself last night that we put a lot of talk and thought into a push (I sat the game out though) but that's how you make it long term. Either way. Who you have today bud?
