Why are the Chiefs still SB favs

Current odds have KC as a slight SB favorite over Pack ?? . But other than KC being the defending champions, how does this make any sense? GB has been murdering teams left & right while KC hasn't covered in 9 or 10 straight games if my math is correct. I won't even touch Mahomes injury bc I believe he is healthy. But with a comparable offense and significantly better D, how is GB not the overall favorite??

It is the “Mahomes” brand. Ask around. Seriously none of the common folk more casual football knowledge type fans can picture him losing. A big part in setting lines is perception. They cant tip their hand and not have chiefs be the favorite as it would raise too many questions. It makes sense that they are favorites. Plus they are the defending super bowl champs which is a premium as well. It will provide tremendous value on whoever they face if they get past Buffalo

Lines aren't meant to predict what will happen.  Lines are meant to maximize profits for the books.  With futures, the amount of money already bet on a team is factored in.  If the books have enough KC action, they are not going to put out a line to get more.

One reason is Andy Reid. Matt Lafleur is a great coach. Andy Reid will someday be in the Hall of Fame.

Plus recently, GBs defense has played very well, but KCs is pretty damn consistent.

And no matter what you say, KC has more weapons besides running back.

Still believe in GB but until KC loses , they should be a slight favorite.

KC's D has given up at least 27 pts 4 times in the past 8. Meanwhile GB hasn't given up that many, not once in the past 6. If anything the team that has been more consistent is GB.

GB + KC would have the best Offense and Defense very close heading to the Super Bowl in Tampa Bay. 2017 Vikings almost hosted their own Super Bowl but lost to the Eagles in the Conference. Tampa Bay will also be the team to lose before going to their own Super Bowl stadium. 

How exactly is the KC D #1? If anything they should be below Buffalo & GB.

If you have to ask this question you really are slow on the uptake.

The Chiefs are the champs first of all... They may not be covering this year but are still winning. The champs are always the champs until proven otherwise.

2nd and more importantly, the Packers have to play TB. And by TB I mean Tom Brady. Have a look at his playoff record. It's pretty good. Whether you agree or not with this, it's widely accepted that there is a better chance of GB getting knocked off than KC because the Goat has 6 rings and Josh Allen has won a total of 1 playoff game.

OK. Let's look at it another way. If Green Bay and Kansas City with a healthy maholmes  both win Sunday , they will play each other in the Super Bowl on a neutral  field.

Opening line. Kansas City would be favored.

 Healthy Mahomes? The kid is only 25 years old. That sack was no where near what Bret Farve endured! Young kid brushed it off and cleared the protocol over night. Staged injury if you ask me.
