1000 bucks and another ball? Screw all that fan shit, that guy gave away a life changing amount of money away for basically a 1000 buck gift card at the over priced bucs gift shop. They are saying the ball is worth 500k to a million right now today. Athletes make hundreds of millions of dollars, why shouldnt a lucky fan be able to cash in? That guy is going to regret this the rest of his life. The rich catch all the breaks the little guy throws them.

Agreed. He may have been 'in the moment' and didn't want to seem like a douche. If he had more support, he should have held onto the ball and negotiated after the game. That Bucs official is the hero and probably gonna get compensated by the team/Brady for getting that ball back.

my ass would have left the game so fast, they would have thought i was the road runner. 99.9 percent go their whole lives, never been able to land a score like that. I know if i was brady, i would throw that guy 250k back to him.

When Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth's record of 60 home runs in 1961, the guy who caught the ball in the stands offered to give the ball back to Maris.
Maris told him to keep the ball because he could use the money from the sale of the baseball to help his own family. Now that is the difference in character and just shows how self centered and selfish many of the modern day athletes are...and yes that includes Brady.
Roger Maris was a prince of a man, something that Brady and his ilk will NEVER be.

Something tells me the ball wouldn't have made it out of the stadium if he refused the offer. Buccs could have argued it wasn't Evan's ball to give. Probably would have sued the guy...would any Buccs fan want Brady pissed at him? Guy is now a Buccs legend for not trying to cash in...

guys is a bucs legend lmfaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. That and 2 dollars can get you a cup of coffee. Evans caught the ball, so it was his right to give the ball away. Bucs would have lost any lawsuit. Theres nothing in the rules of going to a game that say certain balls need to be returned.

You probably can't keep the ball if it comes down to the nitty gritty of its rightful legal ownership - in other countries the security will make you throw any ball back but most fans do it immediately anyway (happens in soccer all the time).
Posts like this show how sad of a culture there is in the US. Very much an American thing to try and make money off every little thing instead of doing the right thing. The ball doesn't belong to the fan even if a player give it to you.

You’re 100% correct; security would have confiscated the ball before the guy even made it to the tunnel. The ball is property of the NFL and and players do not have the authority to give away something that is not theirs.
Now you’ll say it happens all the time and you’d be right but in those cases, the ball has no significant value for the league and they let it go; it’s a goodwill gesture on behalf of the league if you will.
Read the fine print about your entering private property, i.e. the stadium itself. The guy got something out of it which is more than he had when he walked in.

I would have gladly accepted the offer the guy took, maybe even a round of golf with Brady in the off-season. That ball has no meaning to me but alot for Brady.

Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity and common decency.
All the people who claim that the fan "should have got his" are the same type who stub their toe on an uneven sidewalk and sue the municipality for millions.
Money does not change your life. What's on your insides changes your life. How you feel about yourself changes your life. How you treat others changes your life.
Self worth and an understanding of what is valuable in life is lost on so many

Maybe he's already rich. Then again, rich people are the cheapest. I doubt a really rich person would just give that ball away for free. He would sell it for the highest bidder

People like you .. looking to cash in on others !! Big deal .. It’s his 600th TD .. you wouldn’t understand the significance of that !! This has nothing to do with gambling ! This is a forum for gambling , not crying that a kid gave Brady his 600th TD ball back …
Get over it

You can bet that sports' memorabilia collectors would be willing to pay a lot of money for that football. So the market for that football is vast.
I have never heard of baseballs or footballs being confiscated by stadium personnel as the crowd is leaving the stadium...fill me in with some credible links to these happenings if you have them which I doubt. I don't consider anecdotal evidence legit...has to be a legit news' source.
Also, athletes have cashed in on a gullible sports' public for years...why shouldn't sports' fans share in some of the 'spoils'??? That Maris home run ball that Sal Durante caught would have never been confiscated as he left Yankee stadium.

The right thing?
The right thing is to keep it.
But the fact is they would have had cops or secret service take it from him later and you would have never known.
He threw 600 and there were 6 seconds left on the qtr clock. All planned
