I'm not talking about a 55% fav or an 80% fav.
I'm saying the non public side only wins 55% of the time. And as Vanzack is saying it's even lower than that it looks like.
fair enough....

soonernation,
i agree you can not trust the internet books and data blindly. I can tell you 100% for sure in the 1990's when jimmy vaccaro ran the mirage race and sports book ( this is after sid, another big bookmaker retired from vegas so it was the primary spot re sports betting) jimmy would on a daily basis move lines AFTER kickoff. in order to confuse trend bettors and make false data available. using yesterday as an example lets say thet had NY 5 and 43.5 at kickoff the second the game closes those numbers move to the left of the teams names on the betting menu above the race and sports book. when the line "moves over" indicating the game is closed it would say 5.5 and 44 or 4.5 and 43. sometimes he would move the side number, sometimes the total sometimes nothing but this would make the "final" number on the board inaccurate. if you were at the mirage you know 100% that was not the line but if you walked in ten minutes later or looked at info on sheets the following day you were misled. his 2 assistants always did this also michele and lori when he was not there. now it would be harder to do and easier to catch with all the real time line access but even 10 years ago people who were involved heavily into sports betting knew this happened. to think the internet isnt cooking the books in some places would be very naive. good luck everyone
