You just made my point. The guy came to bet on the NFL but also was playing the tables. The increase during the NFL season is proportional because the sports bettors also spend $ on slots and tables.
Make it easy on yourself and Google it if you refuse to believe that sports books do not keep casinos alive.

It's the WWE for me !!!! Bet the house, the pickup truck, the wife and all my money on some steroid head redneck throwin' chairs and stools at his opponent. Such a nice (don't know what to call it) game to entertain the mindless and the dim-witted.
guess sports entertainment.

anyone who thinks its fixed is just not a good capper.must lose alot, and need something to blame it on lol.
been hitting 66% all posted for years on this site. jump on board and make some money
lol any idiot can get above .500 of his picks right. it means the same things keep happening which means its not unpredictable which means its staged. I enter countless pickems and always end up in top 3 even though I dont religiously follow football.
one week, Pick all home teams. Next week pick all underdogs to cover, youll always end up positive. Being good at making picks is the same as being good at boiling water. Its not hard and you dont have to be smart to do it

All these guys thinking these games are fixed are fukking idiots-
Fixed= predetermined outcome
NFL games are swayed by referees- heck the games mentioned in this thread didn't even come close- if the refs tried to determine the outcome of a game it was trying to give Dallas the win on Sunday night- but guess what- there are still 22 freaking players with pride who bust their azz so their team won't lose-
Any of you who thinks these games are scipted just are not living in reality- Of course the NFL wants certain outcomes and I believe refs are involved in some shady dealings but they can not FIX a game
I have had 22 successful(profitable) years in a row betting on NCAA and NFL- I will admit I don't do as well in the NFL but I do win in the long run- and I sure don't know what side the "fix" is on-
Also, as posted above, sports betting is literally a fraction of a casino's profits

What a load of morons. You are the one with lack of reading skills. You said the 50k marker was for his football wager. When I clearly wrote it was at the tables.I need to feed into absolutely nothing. You are desperately trying to spin things your way.Problem is, it takes brains to spin it successfully and I'm sure like everything else in your life it ends in an epic disaster.
You kids are so funny....

I refuse to further acknowledge you idiots in threads like this.
Which sadly means I will only talk down to you rather than talk to you.
The fact that you imbeciles see only what you want to see is the deal breaker.
You seem like a very level headed classy guy. Even though you've made zero sense in this entire thread, you did call us moron, idiots, imbeciles and sheep many times which clearly makes you seem super smart. You seem like you'd be a really fun guy to hang out with and definitely not a crazy name calling conspiracy theorist. Take care.

There might be something to this. Although I think most games just get played out, I really think certain games in which they know will be high volume betting games in which they will set a line to insure the public pounds one side are fixed. Especially on totals, which are much much easier to rig. Overall in high volume games in which the public is 65% or higher the public is 25-30 ATS. The public started out well this year, going 20-15 ATS in week 1 through week 5 or the books getting the hook period. However, the public is a horrid 5-15 ATS in these high volume games week 6 through week 9. The totals in high volume games the public has been downright robbed with a record of 13-33 picking totals this year. These numbers are definately head scratching. I am almost sold Monday Night is fixed. Public is 1-9 ATS on Monday Night, and public is 2-8 selecting the total.

Once again, I am looking a MNF betting so far and the public is pounding the Bengals at 78% on the spread, and 84% on the over. Even though I have not seen any fishy with a Bengals game this year, don't be surprised in this awesome Bengals offense convienently shows up flat in this game so the Texans can cover and the under is preserved. The teams where I am constantly seeing strange stuff happening in the games involving the Falcons, Broncos, Packers, and Colts. Furthermore the flow of games can easily be controlled by the refs by so called "judgement penalties" such holding, pass interference, personal foul type penalties. QB's can control the game by red zone turnovers, taking unecessary sacks, and just calling audibles that put the offense in a bad play against a certain defense. Coaches can gameplan to keep games close or high/low scoring games.

I know the topic has been beaten to death about exactly what books do, and here's my thoughts.
97% of games, trying to get even money. No way around that IMO. I was a bookie for 20 years and not that that qualifies me to know anything about the inner workings, of a billion dollar business, but I know more then the average Joe.
Then here and there you have games where the action isn't quite 50/50 and everyone with experience knows that. Not talking about hack sites with their fake numbers....just KNOWING the game. For me, it was having 30 guys bet under me for years and years and seeing how they bet. IMHO, what it comes down to is the guys who set the lines up at the top. All they are......are guys who are on top of things. They don't by ANY means know outcomes before-hand, but just have an instinct on where certain upsets could happen. IMO that tiny tiny % of games where the money isn't even.....it's what old timers would call the old fashioned SUCKER bet. Almost always the superior team on the road laying points. Something that the average bettor and ESPN guy looks and says "WHOA the pats are laying ONLY 3.5 to crappy _______!!!"
So I do think there's those select few games where the powers to be kind of cap their own upsets, but by no means are games fixed or predetermined. If the linesmaker was God......that makes me one of the 12 Disciples because every Monday morning, I set lines and I can nail at least 12 of 16 within a point. Couple might me off a couple points and occasionally I'll have someone like NE -11 over Wasgington and it opens at -13.5. Or like this week, I had TB -2.5 over Dallas and Dallas opened up -2. I'm not bragging or trying to prove I'm SMAAAAAT like Fredo Cordelone.....anyone with experience in the game, anyone that sports betting is more than compulsive betting and chasing on a Sunday can guess the same.
I'm babbling. Hope I made sense.

You just went through a whole breakdown yourself showing that Vegas has no interest or need to fix games. YOU SAID SO YOURSELF, the money is not there. But then you write stuff like this. Is there a little guy talking to you in one ear and another more evil conspiracy guy talking to you in the other?

A tough talking hard azz with an aerial shot of Vegas as his avatar and the name Mafioso....how dare anyone question you.
The only reason you consider Phixer as the best capper is that he also subscribes to your fairy tale theories.
As far as fading or following anyone, I do neither. I make my own picks and live with the results. It's called "being an adult", something you know nothing about, Skippy.

I can prove Vegas and books don't give a crap about these games and would have zero interest in fixing them.
Look up Cantor Gaming and William Hill. These are 3rd party entities who are swarming through Vegas. Casinos are having these companies come in and take over their books so they don't have to deal with them.
So lets think this through, if there is so much money at risk that "Vegas" needs to fix games.........then why are they giving up all that revenue to these independent operators? Think that one through for second.
And the answer is, sportsbooks don't make sh!t compared to what everything else in a casino brings in. But they need it there for the foot traffic, it brings in customers. Sportsbook bring in pennies to casino operators.
So for anyone who thinks "Vegas" fixes games and the lines and percentages and all that other crap are proof......you're not using your head.
Thank you. Finally some logical reasoning.
