Sure SanJose has won 6 playoff games at home in a row, and sure St. Louis has not scored a goal in the past 7 periods, that's over two games.Blues are in a funk,they  have been embarrassing to see the past two games, that's not the same team that beat Chicago and Dallas, it's like night and day watching this team play right now...

I still believe that this team has another gear, I still believe they can tie this series tonight, changing goalies does make me a little nervous but you have to believe the rest of the team will rally behind this move and have Elliot's back tonight.The Sharks are a tremendous team for sure but I would be very surprise if the Blues don't show up the rest of the series and play at least one game the way the did against the BlackHawks and the Stars and tie this thing up tonight...besides that, they have been playing better on the road in the playoffs...

Norbert, when it seems so obvious at times, sometimes it's best to go the other way. I agree 100% with your thoughts and feel that we see a bit of pride tonite from the blues. This is a better team that the product we are seeing out there. Changing the goalie is a big move BUT I feel with St louis' depth at defense and speed, the goalie change may not be as glaring as many think. I revert back to the hawks last year against Nashville in the playoffs. Crow got off to a rocky start and Q made the move to darling. The game he replaced crow and the  game he won afterwards, I feel that changed the whole momentum of the series and it brought the hawks closer together. They rallied and the rest is history. Crow was unstoppable later on too. I feel tonite will be a tough one but I also feel this will be the turning point in this series making it a best of 3 with 2 in the blues barn going forward. Expect the unexpected tonite too. Sharks net minder has been hot and blues have a backup. The obvious would be that Allen struggles but for some reason, I think he gives them the shot in the arm they need. GL Norbert

If this is a matchup between goaltenders I think that Jones is going to be on top. But there is also defence and offence. Fact seems to be that Blues speed is not enough for the sharks. I have been watching this series closely and its easy to see that Sharks has been the better team. Puck possession, passing, 1vs1 on the corners, determination, focus (especially when not taking as much penalties as blues) There is some frustration on the blues bench and changing Elliot to Allen is a sign of that from my point of view. Blues must have motivation for this game, but I also think that they had that motivation last game. They just dont seem to have what it takes. I think that sharks will put more in the game today.

Also if it even matters, sharks play at home so psychological edge must be on their side with all the cheering from the crowd. Just my thoughts.

First off, home ice plays no role in hockey. Anybody who knows hockey, specifically, will tell you that. The blues have shown that they can win on the road. Two of the most hostile arenas in the playoffs didbnt phase this team. As for goaltending, if you think allen wont be ready to reclaim his role here, i think you are nuts. If you think the blues arent awake with this occuring, you are nuts. You state all the obvious stuff that everyone states in your post Nalle. It's understandable but something has to give tonite. No goals in two games and nobody has played well. This is about the blues defense and in my eyes, as a hawks fan, I have seen this team play very well in big spots. The depth there along with the experience has to count for something and I feel that will carry forward to the blues offense. The EASY bet here is the sharks. At home, on fire, seems too easy. Well, last nite did too and TB showed up. I could be way off here but I am trusting the blues to tie this series up. I expect the defense of the blues to put pressure on the sharks wingers in their zone and I think the brouwers and Backes win the battle down low tonite. Sharks are heavy favorites and rightfully so but tonite I feel the blues tie this series up at 2. Good luck all

Nalle... Anything can happen tonight, you are right, the Blues  can lose tonight and that would be pretty much the end of the series. I happen to believe that because they have had success in the past in San Jose and knowing what the situation is at his time with their team, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that if tonight is not a wake up call then,they are done, I know this team is better that what they have shown so far, thanks for your comments and enjoy the game tonight Sir..

Very good points there. Depth is something this blues team has and I agree that this is the time to fire on all cylinders and get those legs moving.

They must have some added motivation also from the difficulties they have faced, as Hitchcock has stated many times.

This sharks bet for me was very small only 0.5 units (2 is my max, I  also have sharks series bet pending (4 units)

As Norbert said, anything can happen despite Sharks statistical superiority. Exciting match ahead, enjoy guys :)

Home Ice does make a difference. % 5 positive edge on average. I think Sharks bounce back tonight. They played bad last game but were lucky enough to come out with a win.

Didn't play very well, and luck enough to come out with a win They shut the Blues out 3-0, scored a goal in every Period and the only thing they didn't do was score on the PP, but they only had 2 chances

But to Norbys OP, I agree and think the Blues, as tired as they are from the 2 Series, find enough gas in their tank to get the W  tonight. I look for Backes and Taresenko to step up tonight, starting right now with this PP. Goood Luck Buddy
