A little discussion room for the Eastern Conference Final. Should be a great series. This season Florida/Rags played 3 times with Florida holding a 2-0-1 record vs Rangers, including 2-0 at MSG. The O/U in those 3 games went 2-0-1 but these are the playoffs so don't know if we can rely on those numbers. The Rangers had 9 PPs in those 3 games and scored only 3 times (important figure as you will see in a minute).
The last 10 games played by each team: Florida is 7-3 and Rangers are 8-2. Both teams have played 6 overs and 4 unders in those 10 games. Both teams are 3-2 on the road and 3-2 at home. Interesting stat- there were 25 games played in the second round, 16 of the visiting teams WON. Ponder on that one.
So, in the first 2 rounds, the Rangers were OUTSCORED 22-20 at even strength but the kicker is during special team play, they outscored their opponents 15-4. Moral of the story, Florida needs to stay out of the box. Well, so far the Panthers have done that. During the playoffs, they have 13 more minutes on the PP compared to the PK. They did a good job vs Tampa and will need to do it again.
Bob has a better GAA in the playoffs than Igor but Igor has a better save percentage than Bob in the playoffs. Both teams appear to be as healthy as they can be at this time of year and both have had adequate rest. Other than the advantage of the Rangers on the PP, someone needs to tell me where these two are really different. Both can play a heavy game, although I think Florida is the heavier team. Does that mean we might see more of Rempe? X-factor, imo...Florida has been there and I just feel like they are hungry.
So fill in the blanks and I will get to the other final match-up tomorrow.
My GUESS....Florida in 6 or 7.

It does seem that way. Hell, in 6 games vs Canes, were they ever a favorite? Game 1 line has fluctuated for several days. Currently I have it as even but if anything Florida has been favored. Heart is pulling for Florida but wallet hasn't decided yet.

I like Florida as well this series, They are well rested and are the more physical team. I don't think Shesterkin will be happy with the traffic he encounters in front of the net and that could make a big difference in the series.. No team can afford to take dumb penalties in this series, especially the Panthers..

Game 1: Florida's physicality showed up tonight. Rangers, not so much. After Rangers missed those two early break aways, it was shut down mode for the Panthers. I personally think this team learned from last year and it will show as we get further. And, don't even start with Bob getting hot. We can talk about Igor, Otter but Bob has been there and knows what it takes. I look for a bigger push from the Rangers in Game 2 or this could be a quick series.

Well, Rangers did come out with their pants of fire but that didn't last long. Florida weathered the storm and here comes the attack. Their forecheck is relentless. Rangers at times can't even get the puck out of their zone. If the Rangers want to play that physical, Florida will just return the favor. Last 2 periods should be entertaining.

As D would say, need to do a little math work to catch up.
Thought about taking Panthers team total but with the way these playoffs are going, that's too risky at that price. Instead I'll just stick with ML.
Looking at the first two games, these two are so evenly matched up, but I still give a slight edge to Florida. They just seem to have more Dog in them.
I'll take the home team today as they should be pumped up.
Florida ML -158

Updated playoff record: 34-27 +0.33 units. Rollercoaster but still positive.
WOW...talk about no respect. Rangers anywhere from +143 - +150. What does Vegas know that we don't? Pinny has Florida ML at -168 BUT you can get Rangers PL at -174? If you are going to spend that much on ML why not just take the +1.5? Leaning 1P over, as I think Florida will come out firing and early. But this series has been tight from the start.
Packing to go to Kiawah for the rest of the week so I'll ponder why I pack.

You always need clean underwear and socks at a minimum...
I am surprised the line came out so high, and that it has not moved much at all...
I'm on the Cats tonight on some open parlays from last nights game, but I might be throwing a little insurance on Rags to be safe. -170 Fave and line is not moving means money is coming from somewhere on Florida, and it is no small amount... BOL Doc
