Did you think Montreal had a real shot to win this game? I don't mean after the 3rd. I mean before the game started. The worst road team in the NHL playing in PITT where the Pens have opne of the best home records etc etc. This isn't something I'm asking in hindsight of the decision. Its headed somewhere but first I need your answer to explain where I'm going with this.

Ok, you didn't answer. Before the game started. Did you think Montreal had a real shot at WINNING this game? Not covering the +1 1/2 line but WINNING straight up. Is the answer yes or no? I'm going to give you a stat based on your answer. I'm not trying to mock you b/c the bet lost. We all lose bets.

I'd like to let you all know that I just went outside at 1am and made a 6-foot snowman in my front yard. You're all welcome.

SJS -143 Sharks are now 8-2 in their last 10 on the strength of their current 5-game win streak. They’ve covered the puck line in 7 of those 8 wins so that will tell you how well they’re playing at the moment. Now, that said, they have beaten up on some bottom dwellers here downing teams like Chicago, Vancouver, Edmonton, Detroit, a Calgary team that has fallen apart etc. etc. So, this is a big test for them but what I can tell you about winning streaks is it breeds confidence and confidence breeds strong play which can carry over against any match-up. At home, full of confidence and needing points here, I see The Sharks taking down Vegas and Malcolm Subban. And Subban is a point of interest here. We all remember The Golden Knights early injury woes at goalie and how every goalie seemed to step up and Subban was no different. He was shot out of a cannon going 5-0 and was very impressive. However, on the road for the year, his stats tumble a bit which is not unusual, but what is something to take note of is how his stats have really fallen off since that 5-0 start. On the year since then, he has a pedestrian .906 and 2.79 GAA. It gets worse over his last 5 starts as he sports an increasingly bad .885 Save% and 3.44 GAA. Look for red-hot San Jose to take advantage here in The Shark Tank.
COL -122 Nathan MacKinnon now has a 13-game scoring streak and has amassed 26 points in that span. He’s a stud. And at The Pepsi Centre so is this Avalanche team. Since Dec 29, they have gone 15-2-1 and 15-0-1 against anyone without a Predators logo on their jersey. Overall during this 18-game stretch they have scored 70 goals (3.88) and only allowed 33 (1.81) which is a difference of over 2 goals per game. Varlamov will be in net with his .933 Save% and 2.26 GAA on home ice to counter Jonathan Quick for Los Angelas, who are in the middle of a 4-game road trip and coming off back-to-back OT games.
CLB -138 Two hot teams heading into this one and the home team wins it in my opinion. Florida has been on a great run, especially the young offensive core, but now they go on the road to play an even hotter team that has a stud goalie and plays strong defense. Bobrovsky has a stellar .930 Save% and 2.11 GAA in Columbus and the Jackets have won 9-straight overall and 7-straight on home ice and have doubled teams up, scoring 27 goals (3.85) and allowing 13 (1.85) in that stretch at Nationwide Arena

NYR/PHL over 6 -110 Suddenly the Rangers powerplay is 7 in the league, having scored 6 power-play goals in their last 12 chances over the last 4 games. They get to shoot on the 27 ranked Philly penalty kill so maybe that helps us here. Rangers offense has scored 16 goals in their last 4 games but have given up 24 in their last 6 and the over has hit in their last 6 as well. For Philly they’ve slowly turned things around getting points in their last 3 games while scoring 14 goals in that span (4.66). The over has also hit in their last four games. Rangers just continue to give up too many scoring opportunities and that plus their ability to score a few makes the over a play each night on them.
WASH -1/2 -110 Prior to Detroit potting 5 in a win over Philly their last time out, they had lost 10-straight and the offense sputtered to the tune of only 19 goals during that losing stretch (1.90). That number gets even lower and falls to 1.77 GF if you look back at their last 13 on home ice before that win. What I’m getting at is, when teams break long losing streaks, they generally feel the weight of that lifted but at the same time they go back to playing loose because they feel vindicated from that win and it usually results in falling right back into the losing ways prior. They scored five, but long term the numbers show they simply have trouble putting the puck in the back of the net. If this was Braden Holtby in net, I’m not on this play, but Grubauer has really been solid for the Caps all year and in his last 9 road appearances he has a .934 Save% and 2.01 GAA so I trust him to stymie a low-scoring Red Wings attack here and get the road win for a Caps team who are trying to fend off Pittsburgh for the Metro crown.
Good luck, everybody!

Lol good luck! Had a big write-up for TB/NYI over expecting Halak in net but passed on it once I saw Lindren. He's played really well for The Isles and burned me last time.
Also, have a lean and potential add on VAN TT O2.5 of all things. On the fence.
