 Not really.  Oil would've lost to the Kings Round 1 if not for McDavid.  Hard not to give the playoff MVP Award to the best player in the playoffs.  No one on FLA was deserving compared to CM.  Bob came the closest, but he also literally disappeared for 3 games, and even got benched.

McDavid disappeared for the last 2 games, and most importantly game 7 in which Bob was stellar. Bob also stole game 1 and arguably game 2. McDavid's only really dominate game where he alone stole one was game 5.

The Panthers also had a much tougher road to the Stanley cup and if it wasn't for bob, probably wouldn't have made it this far. He was the MVP on the Stanley Cup winning team.

That makes him the MVP for the playoffs, period.

CM didn't even come get his award..think he knew he Really DIDN'T deserve it...PANTHERS don't win without Bob's Spectacular play despite a terrible Game 4...how many points did McDavid get in last 2 Games?? Oh wait, the MVP didn't even have a SOG in Game 6..some MVP

Conn Smythe Award is a full playoff performance award.  Not just 1 or 2 games in the Cup Finals. 

McDavid set or surpassed a dozen playoff records, including most Assists in a SC Playoff passing THE Wayne Gretzky.  And he is now 4th all time for most points in a SCP, behind only Gretzky and Mario, who are quite easily the two greatest players in the history of the sport and first ballot HOF's.

Bob had a 2.67 GAA (133rd all time) and a Save % of 0.906 (103 all time) in the cup Finals.  In the entire SCP he had a 2.33 GAA (304 overall all time) and 0.906 Save % (423 overall all time).  His overall stats for these playoffs are literally below average, with hundreds of Goalies with way better stats who never even got put on a HOF Ballot. 

Will not argue that he had some good games, where he carried the team, but he was also very average in many games.  He was atrocious in Games 4 and 5, and was so bad in game 4 that he got benched.

Conn Smythe winners don't never get benched by their coach in the Cup Finals.  Ever.  Period.
