Oiler fans have been spoiled over the years. Gretzky now McDavid. They have had two of the greatest hockey players to play the game in the same city. They have watched Gretzky play most of his career here not all but wow how good was he. How can you not be just in aw of the guy 11 times over 100 assists. No one will even come close to that record. He was by far the greatest to play the game of hockey then now or any era. McDavid is special in his own right now but it just goes to show how great the great one was.
Nine seasons in Edmonton and the other eleven elsewhere.
Actually 10 years in Edmonton they moved from the WHA here. They were in Indy where Gretzky started his career when he came out of the Soo from JR. Gretzky had 8 of his 11 assists over 100 seasons in Edmonton. He had 3 in LA so the Oiler fans seen his best days. They were still lucky to have him half of his career here. You are right it wasn’t most of his career basically half. The seen him in his prime thou when he did things no one else did or will ever do again so they are spoiled I say still.
