Rough night as the over hits but not enough to cover the Penguins fuck up. If i didn't hit with Detroit last night id be up shits creek right now...goin right back with'em
1 UNIT DETROIT ML
Detroit (16-23 Road) travels to Columbus (14-24 Home) in the last meeting between these two this season
Columbus' season is over while Detroit continues to fight for home ice advantage as Nashville is right on their heels in the standings.
The Red Wings have had their number this season leading the series 4-1 and have outscored the Jackets 21-12 in those match-ups.
Detroit needs the points so i doubt they overlook them. Columbus looked terrible in every aspect last game at Detroit.
The Wings road record is less than stellar and i do expect Columbus to at least play for pride and make a game out of this in front of their home crowd after being destroyed last game.
But these are still the Blue Jackets and i cant back them in any situation after their recent performances. Especially against a Detroit team, who has regained their swagger and has more to play for.
It won't come as easy for the Wings this time around but i feel that they'll find a way to win against the worst team in the league.
Best of Luck with your plays guys

anyone have a TT for Detroit tonight? I would think its going to be 3.5 in which case I may go with the game over. If its 3, I am going with Wings TT over.............

When teams play again just after a recent blowout in the last meeting, usually the team who got blown out plays much better in the next game... I'm not saying they win... just that they tend to play more inspired to avoid a similar results or to get payback.
DET-7 CLM-2 L-meeting just two days ago...
The way that game went it's not hard to imagine that the Wings could have scored 4 or 5 in each period IF it had been needed for them to make the playoffs.
Given this weeks current upsets in Philly on Monday and Pittsburgh last night, we have been reminded how fickle dogs the NHL can be sometimes without notice.
I think you are correct with your assessment that the Wings should prevail again in this matchup vs Columbus tonight.
As for the Wings trend this season which follows a blowout win vs ALL teams... Here are the stats...
This seasons Wings games in which they have scored 6 or more goals in a win...(and the results of thier next games after those wins...)
12/10/11 Wings win 7-1 at home vs Jets and followed that up on 12/13/11 with a 4-1 win AT the Pens. The Wings were down 0-1 after 1 period and tied it in the 2nd. They got 3 in the 3rd to seal the win.
12/17/11 Wings win 8-2 at home vs Kings and followed that up on 12/19/11 with a 3-2 win AT Edmonton. The Wings led 1-0 after 1 period. The Oilers tied it in the 2nd but the Wings went up 2-1 before the Oilers tied it with just 1 second left in the 2nd period. The Wings scored with just 4:15 left in the 3rd and won in RegTime by the 3-2 score.
3/2/12 Wings win 6-0 at home vs Wild then follow that up on 3/4/12 with a 1-2 loss to Chicago AT Detroit. Chicago opened the scoring in the 1st period before the Wings tied the game also in the 1st. The Hawks took a 2-1 lead with just under 2 minutes left in the 2nd period and held on through a scoreless 3rd period to get the 2-1 win over the Wings. This loss to the Hawks came at the beginning at the Wings recent 1-8 slide which they ended with a 5-4 come from behind home win vs Carolina and the 7-2 thumping of Columbus.
With the Wings recent surge in goal production the 1st period line looks really good also at -½ +125... my only concern in this game is how much goal production will the BJ's get tonight being at home...(?)
Goalie Matchup - DET - Conklin (likely) vs CLM-Mason (confirmed)
Good Luck Tangiers

I would imagine after dropping 6 straight coach babcock really let Detroit have it. They need the points and i think the Wings will be focused the rest of the season.

Just took Over 5 1/2 its hit in this matchup the last 3 games. With York in net the Wings should be good for at least 3-4 but just in case the BJ's come out strong and pepper Conklin I went with the game over. Here's a link to an article about Mason being injured in the morning skate.

kind of a "cryptic" warning. I took it to mean "I will pay the juice" which gives you an opening to CRITICISE no matter WHAT happens which is ALL you seem to be good at
