NHL interest in Canada has been in decline for the last 25 years but it has been in outright free fall mode for the last 10-15. Dangerbay thinks I'm crazy, he just sold one of his speed boats and put all if it on the predators so even in the insane asylum there are differing opinions.

Nashville loses 2 games & home (game 1 & 5) and Winn also loses 2 at home ( Game 4 & 6)? What are the chances? Like 1%?  Two very good home ice hockey teams?  3rd time’s the charm. Nashville gets this one done at home. 

Line indicates way too much respect for Peg. Which is true based on historical data...but ImO line should be closer to  -170.

Better value Nash -150.

Well no disrespect to your friend, if he is your friend but he too is a lawyer so unless you have his wife and kids tied up in a brooklyn basement and on video beaten and bloodied and begging for their lives then I would not just assume everything that came out of his mouth was a lie and even with the video still probably wouldn't trust one.

But for fun I will throw this one out there. The Texas team who a few years earlier they had stolen from the good and loyal North Star fans of Minnesota because they knew Dallas would never support a new struggling franchise and had to have a winner immediately and taking one that was already built, had just been to the finals and had strong prospects was the only way to succeed. When that team had a player score while standing in the crease and they allowed the goal which was a clear violation of the rules, Why did allow it?? 

Now much later after as in a few weeks later the explanation they gave was that a secret memo had been circulated to all the teams in the league towards the end of the season, hang on a sec LMFAO.... LOLOLOLOL....ok so ya two problems with that story. First off a secret memo that the media was never told about or any fans? Why would a massive rule change be a secret, obviously that is beyond absurd and an awful lie. And during those playoffs goals had been disallowed under the umbrella of that rule so obviously the rule had never been changed and there was know secret memo so that was a complete fukking lie for the retarded sheep to swallow down like a bucket of jizz which they did ofcourse. 

Ok so they gave Minnesota a team as they had planned to when they stole their beloved North Stars from them so Texas could have an immediate stanley cup. They also stole a surging Nordiques team from the people of Quebec after the Lindros trade and the Nordiques were loaded with young future stars and a bunch of blue chip prospects. They stole them and sent them to Colorado to do the exact same thing as they did in Dallas. To Denver, a city that had already proven they would not support an NHL team unless they could have a championship immediately just like Dallas. We saw that when the Colorado Rockies were in the NHL briefly and the city refused to support a growing team despite the team making the playoffs, they had zero patience for the game.

They then stole the Jets from Winnipeg for the same reason but it did not work out as well, they had playoffs all the time but no cup and so they have had nothing but crap to deal with as could be expected. 

So ask him when the poor people of Quebec City will ever get a team back????

Jets vs Vegas sounds like a fast exciting series. No team has won 2 in a row in this series. If jets get first goal Nashville can't play the trap and has to play the jets style of hockey which they can't keep up with we will see.

I just know the guy, not a friend. He's ok, he likes to hear himself talk. If you listen for 2 minutes, he'll buy you a drink, so I put up with it. My friend who owns the bar told me what he does, so I had him introduce us, got his card as proof of who he is. I printed out your questions and I'll keep them in my bike. I usually see him at my friend's bar on Sundays in the summer when it's "Bike day". Him and his wife are usually the only non-bikers there, but he gets along with the crowd (as long as he's buyingan_wink). Whenever I get an answer, I'll let you know even if it's in July. I'd guess I'll see him in the next few weeks though.

GL with the Jets, I'm still undecided what my play will be tonight, if any. peace_5

I really do appreciate the thought but it's ok, enjoy your drinks, nothing wrong with some fellowship my friend. I know it sounds overly cynical but I would never trust anything that came out of the mouth of a lawyer. I know there are exceptions to rules however I would have no faith in his responses. Thank you though. The NHL has exasperated me I'm afraid. I simply don't care what they do anymore. What they've done to the game I grew up playing and loving makes me sick to my stomach,  not too mention the overall negative impact the league through it's corruption has had on Canadian culture as a whole. I'm fully cognizant of how overly deep that sounds but I really do see it that way. I just get angry this time of the year during the nhl season. I hope you have a great, fun and safe summer my friend. Did this on my phone, hope it turned out ok.

Agree Polar-sure in Northern Alberta hockey is still king, but in the big cities such as Vancouver-hard to even find the Jets game on in a bar-it was all baseball, Raptors and soccer like you say-with further demographic trends hockey viewership is only trending down as the white males like me get old!
 

Hockey is dying a fast death in Canada and the NHL wants it that way. None of this is by accident and it makes me both angry and sad, more sad watching helplessly as some corrupt, lying, cheating businessmen from a foreign land gut us of a huge part of our culture and history. Even those small town white hockey players will eventually fade as they have been, because iur game has been taught and engrained within us to be one of toughness, manliness, strength, character and perseverance. The instigator rule being taken out, fighting now gone, players no longer allowed to police themselves like men. Softer more cowardly players with weaker character are now given carte blanche to do whatever they want on the ice. It is a softer more cowardly game now, ine if lower character and courage. That is all geared towards taking the game away from us and giving it to people that play under the umbrella of the latter description of player.

Aggie Adam...i'm all broken up about losing credibility with you, nor sure what I will do. I can tell you are young and are taking it personally and that is too bad. It is what it is and I would not expect you to be able to "get it" most don't. I'm done with the topic after this post so feel free to respond but I won't be checking back in. I appreciate your zeal in regards to the topic even though it is misguided. 
Have fun with your numbers you are regurgitating from somewhere and enjoy them. In reality the league has been dying here for decades, I will link a couple of articles and numbers so two can play that stupid game but that is all just noise. 

Reality is what myself and the gentleman in post 18 are living in and seeing. I worked in the Toronto entertainment scene (bars and lounges) for roughly 25 years minus a handful spent living and working in san diego, boston and montreal for a year and I witnessed first hand, the nhl interest for from frenzied in bars all over Toronto and Canada or that matter to more normalized interest to now most people not caring at all so I don't need any bullshit numbers to tell you me what is happening, I dealt with literally millions of people over the years. I saw the decline. 

A few years ago no canadian based teams made the playoffs and league viewership and interest here had hit rock bottom. I told people a couple of them show post here but I told them in person that they will start stocking up some of the canadian teams and they will have more success going forward because they can't lose us all together. Since then the leafs were gifted auston mathews and got shanahan and babcock to run things, the oilers were gifted connor mcdavid, the flames johnny hockey, the jets were built into a strong skilled, competitive team, last season an awful sens team received a ton of favoritism in calls over both boston and new york as the league carried them to a final four appearance. None of this just happens lol

When the pittsburgh was going to lose their franchise many years ago the league gave them mario lemiuex, they then forced the oilers to give gretzky to the kings and then years alater again when the fairweather penguins fans again finished dead last in attendance because their team had a couple of bad season the league then gifted them sydney crosby to once again bring a dead franchise back to life and refill their arena. None of this is happenstance.

Professional sport interest is dying in general because many intelligent people are sick of all of it's fake garbage and are tuning out, see the NFL MLB etc....Some sheep are beginning to wake up and enjoy the real things in life, which is not pro sports, it is NOT  REAL, it is fun fraudulent entertainment so enjoy it for what it is but for god sake do not take any of it seriously or at face value.

Yes there will be a bump back up here a bit, these men are billionaires and master marketers , it is their forte, it is what they do and nobody does it better.

Punjabi hockey night in canada plays into ratings numbers by the way and they have very little else to watch so again yes great and devious marketing by the nhl even though it promotes people not assimilating or learning english wish I personally do not think is productive, we all should be one and all watching the same channels in the same language, but that is just me. The punjabi numbers boost those numbers by millions as they count the same and also there is no punjabi broadcasts for baseball or nba so no targeting there. But numbers will bump back up a bit anyway because they are now refocusing on Canada and making sure some canadian teams are having success again albeit limited but enough to get some people excited, people stupid enough to get excited anyway.

I play hockey in the town I am now living in, just northeast of Toronto, I actually play on a team with Mike Fishers brother here in peterborough so I will be happy for him if they win. However aside from him watching his brother play literally including myself none of the guys I play with or against could give a rats azz about this game tonight or who wins the cup, so that is reality, I don't need your bullshit numbers. And people in bars or pubs not caring if it's on when it used to be religion, 30 years ago a bartender would be shot if the nhl game was not one ever tv in the joint, now for the most part nobody cares, sorry but I worked in the environment and saw it happen over years and many other have to so you can go smoke your numbers.But again some interest will be ignited because they have reignited some canadian francises.

It is all BULLSHITT sorry bud but you have fun watching. I will enjoy my night out at the movies and I enjoy playing the game and I love going to the OHL games I go to a lot, nut the NHL can go fukk itself with all their fake, marketing, corrupt bullshitt. 

I will never buy one single stitch of their merchandise again in my life nor will I ever attend an nhl game anywhere and I will continue to watch less and less as I have over the past decade. I cheered for my Flyers since the mid 70's so hard to just shut that off so I will follow them and their games as a life distraction and cheer for them but it ends there for me other than to try and make money off the fake crap.
