as much as I hate it, I would think so. 100% more marketable,mass transit 24/7. wang might be getting like 50% or 60% bought out.i don't think the move will hurt them, damn how much worse can it get?

Right and now they are the Hawks are the ones in that position.Their playoff ratings have been through the roof the last 4 years and merchandise.They have put hockey back on the map so to speak.They are now the #1 rated franchise in all of sports and in 2006 they were the worst rated.

I know for sure they were ranked #1 on a couple of things in all of sports by like Forbes and some other thins.Let me google and get the info,

I'll definitely give you hockey. The hawks are on the verge of a dynasty here and I have no doubt their #1 in hockey. But no chance in all sports. The Dallas cowboys are worth more than the ENTIRE nhl...

It's funny real Madrid is second, I thought I read somewhere the club was on the verge of bankruptcy. Maybe I misread it lol. Needless to say, I was 100% positive no hockey team was in the top 5 much less #1 overall. Im not hating on the hawks, Im just saying...

you have to watch those forbes numbers.it's like the antique roadshow, just because an estimator says the picture is worth a million dollars, does not mean you will get paid a million for it.just like home appraisals they are always over more than it's worth this is so they can charge you more taxes

Anyway back to what I was saying is the Hawks have put hockey back on the map nationally the last 5 years.Of course other things have helped but they are the main reason.

I wasn't sure how far down a hockey team would be, so I just limited it to 5 just in case lol. I didn't really figure there would be one inside the top 50 actually. So I will say I am a bit shocked

Pot- I think the sale of the clippers probably just semented these net worths. If anything they may go up. I mean the bucks sold for 550 mil and that was WAY low. Two weeks after they were bought, the new owners got another offer for 1 billion... So I would say, if anything some of these numbers may be low.

interesting statement in that Forbes article that "Gary New York" should pay attention to.

Potvin: No one cared about the hawks because the owner "Dollar Bill" Wirtz was dirt cheap and insane, he wouldnt even let people in chicago watch the games unless it was nationally televised...hard to follow a team with an owner like that, Rocky took over and changed the culture.
