There has been a lot of buzz in the community about the NHL returning to our city. For the last month there has been almost a daily article in the paper with respect to the deals in Phoenix. Just today, they had an interview with a sports reporter from the United States, who was getting quite a kick out of the Phoenix reporters that were saying the thought of them moving, was just propaganda from Canadian sports reporters.
When the Jets left it hurt the City but did not kill it. It has grown and evolved since they left and the city has done a good job from a family perspective of embracing the Moose. I don't think we will ever be at the top of the league in attendance or revenue, but this is a full fledged hockey town and make no bones about it, if we get an NHL team back you will see some incredible enthusiasm, for them.
The biggest hole when the Jets left were those memorable games, against Calgary or Edmonton, the New Years Eve day game, or anytime the Habs came to town.At the end of the day..............there was nothing though, like the White out at the arena for the first playoff game. Nothing compares to it.
Although, we lost the Series, as a teenager with my Dad in the stands I witnessed Dave Elllett scoring the Double OT winner against the Oilers to give us a 3-1 lead in the Series. By far my fondest Jets memory.
A close second, was dropping some money in the bathroom stall and as I went to pick it up, seeing that someone hid a six pack of tall boy, Labatt's Lite beer behing the toilet. When I left the stall, it became a one pack.
I tip my hit to AMD today, what a game to experience with your child.

Professional sports teams are a curse in most cities and eventually the taxpayers end up footing the bill
thought there was going to be an announcement from Mayor Scruugs (sp?) BUT that cut out and some AT&T dork came on whiming that Glendale would become "a second class city" IF the Coyotes moved
