To Calgary for this years 1st and two 2nd round picks.

I mean the Bruins have to go young but WTF are they thinking. They just traded their best young defenseman for picks that may or not pan out. They need to be moving players like Lucic and Chara.

This is a big move for new GM Don Sweeney but I hate it. They are a worse team today than yesterday and they were mediocre at best already. 

Thoughts...because I am pissed off right now. Did they not learn thier lesson from trading their last 1st round pick Tyler Seguin????


They do this and then extend players like Reilly Smith. Who is going to play defense for this team because it aint Chara who is getting long in the tooth.

Thank God the B's won the cup a few years ago because they way they are managing this mess they may not win another while I am alive.

Cover front page just posted that "The Boston Bruins and defenseman Adam McQuaid reached agreement Friday on a four-year, $11 million contract, according to TSN" so it's not ALL "doom & gloom" in bean town

Very pissed about them moving Dougie. Kid has all around game and is still young. Has potential to be cornerstone D for a great team. Understand that Bruins are hurting bc of cap space, but you need to move others before him. Like you said Smith (awful contract) Kelly needs to go. Don't mind Looch going, as long as they find Krecji a line mate he can set up.

Im giving Sweeny the benefit of the doubt. Wait till the roster is set to grade him. But this year looks like a bridge year till they can get that Cap Down,

The flames brass said they where trying get dougie but i said there no chance they will get him. Now i don't have watch the draft because we just stole the show.

I love dougie he only 22 years old his best years are still ahead of him great move. It's a great day for hockey.

im hoping Sweemy has something up his sleeve, to clear some space and get a scorer up fron to go with Krejci.

Dougie just said he can't wait to play in front of the sea of Red. I can't wait to see one of the best D cores in the nhl.

What's the point if you wont keep your picks when they head into their prime???

I have been out all evening so I don't know if anything else went down but this was a horrible move IMHO.

Seguin had serious discipline issues in Boston, showing up to practices late, missing teams meetings, partying out late etc...

They needed to move him to make an example for the rest of the team, even though they lost a talent. Seguin learned the hard way as well and only changed his ways after he got traded (still to be seen if he reverts back...).

I agree overall with what you are saying though, cant make any sense of this Hamilton trade, and I dont get the teams philosophy at this point...

That was my initial feeling but now I just think Sweeney is a complete moron who will set their franchise back years with his stupidity and blind ambition. Giving up a 3rd round pick for that idiot Rinaldo convinced me of that and also that 3rd first round pick they made, a kid they easily could have gotten in the second round, no one was after him, complete waste of the first round pick they acquired in the Hamilton trade.

well no wonder the Bruins could NOT re-sign Hamilton. Covers front page article says TSN reported  Flames paying him six-year contract worth $34.5 million. that is an average of almost $6 million per year and probably "front loaded" to boot. NO way the Bruins could take THAT cap hit
