He may or may not be back but as of right now this is all based upon the word of a career moron named Steve Simmons who has been making up stories in the Toronto media for many years.

I know you're upset about his comments about the Carolina sideshow but all he was doing was speaking for hockey people in Canada. Everyone I know of here thought it was an embarrassment for the sport. Imagine if the NFL put a team in Hamilton, Ontario and nobody showed up to the games even after giving them a championship so they decided to have human bowling and other ridiculous antics in an attempt to get people to go to the games. Americans would think it's ridiculous and be up in arms about why their league/game was in a place that obviously had no true football fans.

Personally I could care less one way or the other to be honest. I find them ridiculous but I don't really care.

Yeah, the baseball people are a completely different animal. You have a huge amount of purist that don't want the game touched at all. Still want the same rules for today that were instituted over a 150 years ago. Times have changed and the game just doesn't work for TV anymore and you can look at the huge amount of empty seats.
But even that is starting to change now, the purist are dying off. You are seeing more showboating on HR's now. Although every innovation in baseball has been bitterly fought until finally adopted. Then the rule change is loved.
Rob Manfred has no problem updating and tweaking the rules.
In the Atlantic league they used a Robot Umpire for their All-Star game and will be used in all the games in a few weeks. Once they work the bugs out of it, then will spread to other leagues. I think this is great !!! Take the human element out of the game and you have consistent balls and strikes called in every game.
