McAvoy Out On Thursday

U.S. defenseman Charlie McAvoy will be out of the U.S. lineup for Thursday's final against the Canadians.

Boo hoo - cry me a river......

Should have been smart like good ole Canadian Cale Maker, who missed the round robin game against the States to make himself available for Thursday's final. Gotta use your head lil' Charlie...

Q Hughes is on his way to Boston

Hughes won't be able to play. The rules state that a team can only name a replacement if they are unable to dress 6 healthy defensemen. Harley wasn't even allowed to practice with Canada until they could prove that Theodore and Makar were both hurt and not able to play. 

They don’t need him anyways. Sanderson,werenski and fox should provide enough offense. 

They may not need him but they're going to miss him. He was their best d-man last Saturday. 

advantage Canada..  Canada sucked on its 2 PPs last time out   with Makar back it would be huge

Heard that Sanderson has a soar thumb and is trending out. 

That is a huge loss for USA

Almost makes up for the POS goaltender Canada is putting out there

Since when is 73 used for offence? 
perhaps in Boston, we see how advantageous their power play is. 

Werenski is the best Offensive Defenseman USA has, and Slavin was their best defenseman over all 3 games.  McAvoy had some nice body checks in the Canada game, but Slavin is a complete shutdown Defensemen, and leads the team in minutes and +/- at 4.  And Werenski leads team in points for all Defenseman.

Charlie is a big loss for sure, but McAvoy drop off to say Sandersen is not as big a drop off when compared to Makar & the drop-off to Sanheim/Harley.
