is the best day of the weekend on the PGA Tour!!! (Saturday for you guys who don't follow the little dimpled ball).
C'mon Doc...c'mon man...we're dying here for content...need to feel the SC adrenaline in here. Guess Doc wants to watch live action...I get it.
Anyway...thinking about coaches and how the good/great ones can make adjustments and tweak things (keep 4 back at center ice and send one burner/disrupter into the offensive end, for example, instead of forechecking and getting caught up ice. But how do you tweak the guy guarding the crease? Pep talk? Pep talk for the team...yeah, for sure...strategic time-out call and everybody knows their role. But the guy with the heavy pads and gear is standing over there all by himself. And if he gets pulled and knows why and agrees with it (to put the onus on his teammates)...can he adjust, or tweak his actions in the crease? Not sure...he's almost entirely reactive, not proactive.
Not gonna say age is a factor with Mike Smith...but if we're talking probabilities and recovery time and a team not helping their net minder as much as they know they should...geez. We know Jacob Markstrom has been very good/excellent all year, and so has Mike Smith. But Calgary's D is better, and Calgary had no problem almost doubling the number of SOG and almost doubling the total shots (incl. missed shots and blocked shots) of the Oil Can. Just can't see Edmonton coming away with a W tonight in that atmosphere.
Carolina/Rangers...lifelong NYer and lifelong NYR guy. Not gonna tell you I took the Canes Game 1 because I thought their energy and the home crowd would get them through (and I thought I'd take the Rags in Game 2). But what happens when you watch and see the team that should have won Game 1 doesn't win...doesn't know how to shut down their opponent (I hear you, Jules). Do you automatically say "okay, they get it back on Thursday?" Is it that easy? Is there no crushing deflation of the team spirit? I love my guys, but I just can't see it.
So, both faves on the ML (and I'll happily take a split as long as I'm wrong on the early game ).
Cheers !!!

Canes won game 1 like they won games for me in the regular season. Down 1 or 2 late come back tie er up and win in OT. They have speed and defense. Seems Under and Canes are solid plays for the series? And over Flames w that firepower. Copying some what Moval posted last week.
Cheers, Racer...BOL buddy
