Very recently, I was informed by my girlfriend that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. It APPEARS that they have caught it extremely early which is fortunate. I know this is the NHL forum, but chances are, I'll be taking an extended break from a lot of things. Please please please hold us in your wishes tonight and moving forward as she is only 28. Thank you.
That being said, she's encouraged me not to change my life and to try to act as normal as possible. We simply can't sit around and wallow in what has happened. We can only react and move forward in trying to get the best possible care, treatment, and in turn, result. I come here not as a "legend" on covers with countless posts, but as a man who needs support from every facet of my life right now. I'm not really a religious guy, but I do believe in God. So please, keep us in your prayers moving forward. I couldn't even think about watching sports last night, and as many of you know, I'm a sports writer. So I need to take a step back, and re-focus on the important things. This is not one of them obviously, but it is something that I'm not half-bad at, and I genuinely enjoy the generating intelligent conversation with people here. So here goes:

WARNING: I used to know nothing about hockey. WARNING: FOLLOW AT YOUR OWN RISK. I'm not pressing submit for you. WARNING: Don't play the damn Blue Jackets too much this year because of the tremendous "value". WARNING: Watch out for the Senators...That being said... Good Luck everyone.
