this is starting to be a monkey see monkey do thing. i get the idea from a micro level but from a macro level the cops and individuals who are responsible for this brutality aren't going to give a shit if sports are on hold. honestly makes little sense they are better off playing and captivating audiences with their messages than sitting on the sidelines and having no voice other than the action. just my opinion.

the nhl got shamed into not playing. there was outrage they played last night. you cant play hockey and be against racism. thats not allowed in todays world. this is just a joke now. bruce arians even said today protesting doesnt do sht. he s right. we arent going to play today but we ll play tomorrow lol. and oh the irony to tribedawgs point. all the trump haters that make up the nba are taking the night off that trumps speaking. well guess what a lot of people will be watching now because they dont have sports to watch. well thought out guys. well thought out. this is what happens when you have a movement with no leader or plan. oh wait... isnt kapernick the leader? where s he at

It kind of looks like a "safe" play by the players and NHL to postpone games for a night in solidarity with NBA. I think it's a pretty effective tactic, this type of protest is to grab peoples' attention that are paying attention to the hockey world but not on what's going on with the shootings and other current events.
Playing anyway is not a hill the NHL is going to want to die on.
A multi-day protest wouldn't do more in my opinion than a one day protest though so it's weird that NBA would play today and NHL won't play tomorrow...

100% agree.....really surprised baseball didn't follow suit but with so many games to play especially Covid ravaged teams they only have so many days to make them up. But, good on the NHL who don't really have a time table to complete their season. Enjoy the few nights off from gambling gents

I'm an Italian-American man who grew up in Cicero, Illinois at a time when "The Outfit" ran EVERYTHING and black people and Hispanics couldn't walk down the street safely. I was married to a Mexican woman with whom I had a child and now I'm married to a black woman - so call me "racist" if you like LOL but if only these self-righteous pampered athletes and fake newscasters only gave a damn when black children routinely murder other black children on the South and West Sides of Chicago every fucking day maybe the world would be a better place. Black Lives need to Matter in fatherless homes as well as in the abortion clinics where more black lives are extinguished than are born in America - oops I'm sorry - those lives may be black but don't matter because there is not a political agenda to be exploited....IMO...

The NBA players are the GOD to all sports if you don't respect ? them and their demands YOU will be JUDGED. IT will not matter and YOU must meet there DEMANDS. The NBA players do have the POWER but must use it WISELY and i have to admit they are DUMB as ROCKS and has no IDEA how to USE the POWERS they possess they only ask people options and REACT without HESITATING thinking.
