Wake up Pucks, he's no longer a good goalie. I don't care what he did in 2005. Domenik Hasek had a good year that season, does that make him a Top 10 goalie as well?

Marty with the 2 quickies in the last 1:30 of a game the Devils had in the bag @ home.
Bested again by Cam Ward.
Marty is still better than any Ranger goalie remember he has won a cup when is Lundqvist going to win one! I would say never in his career. Another jealous Ranger fan who doesn't like Marty because he wins!

Wow you have issues Sally! How long has Marty been in the league why is that because he is great! Lundqvist isn't even in the same league and never will be remember you have to win Stanley Cups to be great and you must break records and i do not see Lundqvist doing either. You always cut Marty up. Why because you think he is no good put him in a Ranger uniform and your Rangers would have won a cup in the last 10 yrs i would say! Luongo is the best in the NHL now hands down so the only golaie you can compare to Marty is Roberto not Lundqvist.

Thats Ok thorton, I understand that the flamers and kippy let you down too.
Yeah Kipper was shit i said it that in many threads i would trade him and Iggy! They have to change the team but i admit it. I would take Marty tomorrow in the Flames net. He can still play.

im a ranger fan yes hes an amazing goalie but idk about top three maybe top 5, but yes th media is in love with him and he did have a chance on alot of those shots, expecially the goal last night we lost on, that was all lundquist and he screwed up, and our season is over. but look at it this way he was the reason we even had a shot in this series but its kinda hard to win when the league wants to see an ovechkin crosby matchup, and also boston now has an easier 2nd round, the rangers and boston are always great games, just look at the score they beat us by this year, 1-0, and multiple times! yeah hes a little overated but he does deserve alot of the praise he gets but i agree the defense is the medias sacpegoat when we lose because they know we dont wanna hear it was henriks fault

lundquist is on pace to break his alot of his records so go get some facts, as for a cup you dont need one to be great, but we will get one once we figure out how to beat the reffs in the playoffs

and luongo is probably the best at the moment but you cant compare him to marty, hes too old and has no shot at his records meanwhile lundquist does and is on pace, so get some facts thornton, go back to your west threads cause you obviously dont know the east that well.

I don't hate Lundqvist i never said that once! I said he aint in the same league as Marty. As for breaking Marty's records he is a long way off and aint going to do it. Marty has 557 regular season wins while Lundqvist has 142. That is a difference of 415 so that means the next ten years Lundqvist would have to win 40 plus games a year to even come close! I don't know what hockey you are watching but the Rangers are not going to get him 40 plus wins for 10 more seasons. Then you have injury and age to worry about. I would make that bet in Vegas right now if i could that Lundqvist is not goin to break Marty's win record. For your statement you don't have to win cups to be great ask any covers member and see what they tell you! All great goalies win you a cup Roydid it, Fuhr did it and Marty has done it. You have to steal games in ever run to a cup and great goalies do it! Lundqvist hasn't done it yet they have not even got to a cup with Lundqvist yet!

im not saying hes gonna do it, i just said he's on pace, its higly unlikely and id take that bet in a second too, but your putting him down cause he doesnt have a cup thats not an excuse and hes only played a few years give him a chance to get one, which i doubt cause every year we wind up playing the teams the league wants to move on, and once we have a powerplay and start getting goals we'll have a great shot, the rangers are missing that 30 goal a year player and we've been trying to buy one, but its not that easy, our young ones are developing well and hopefully they breakout next year because what we are missing is an identity like crosby, ovechkin, nash or a zach parise type of player and once we have that, plus henrik, plus a powerplay we'd be unstoppable no matter how many BS or missed calls there are in the playoffs.

Let's see, who is it better to get outplayed by, Ward or Varlamov? Yeah, thats what I thought.
And yeah, Lundqvist won't get that many losses cause the Rangers will never let him get that far in the playoff's year after year like Marty.
Yes, his career is coming to an end, and the game winning goal was his fault, but I will make sure to check back in with you in even 5 yrs to see what else Lundqvist has added to his career stats besides a couple more 1st Rd losses in the playoffs. It also, to be fair, will never be able to really compare these 2. I mean , Marty was drafted in 90 and has played in the league 15yrs, he is 36. henrik is 27 already, drafted in '00, and played in the league for 3. I don't see Lundqvist playing till he is 39.

Wow he is a hall a famer! Brodeur has won 40 or more games 7 times! Marty has won 30 or more games 12 years in a row would have been 13 if he doesn't get hurt this year. Has Lundqvist won a Cup like Brodeur. The last and not least has he won the most games in NHL history as a goalie. You want to compare stats Marty owns all of them. Marty has won at every level Lundqvist is good but he aint in the same league as Brodeur. Just ask any coach or player ir even a GM in the NHL who they would take and every single one would take Brodeur over Lundqvist that you could bet and win easily!

So if the season was half as long, Chris Mason would have to earn an honorable mention. The second half comeback from the Blues was mostly from his presence between the pipes. He stunk it up the first half, but something clicked in early Feb. and he turned his game around. Definately cant put him in my top ten, but a great second half none the less. With that said, I'm really suprised no one has mentioned Pekka Rinne. Yeah, Nashville didn't make the playoffs, but he played in 52 game and won 29 of them. 2.4 GAA and a .917 save% on a crappy Nashville team. If you mention Steve Mason, you have put this guy up there with him. 2 great young goalies.

I don't know NJDevils! I said it many times i would love to have Brodeur in Calgary and i know every player, coach and GM would tell you the same Marty is a big game goalie and they would take him over Lundqvist anyday! Brodeur has broken so many records and has won 40 or more games 7 times you know how hard that is wow!

Brodeur is obviously better than Henry, but at the same time Henry is a very good Goaltender.
Without Henry, the Rangers are very likely swept in the Caps series.
I also wouldn't say Henry was "outplayed" by his counterpart. When you face 1 shot on goal in the 3rd period of a game 7, it's pretty easy to keep a team off the board. There's plenty of people you could pluck off the street and put in goal to stop 1 shot.
Lets not give the Caps Goalie too much credit either.

Luongo can't take take a shit team in florida or an average team in vancouver anywhere, there just lucky they drew a st. louis team in the 1st round or they would of been gone in that round.
i was being nice when i said Luongo was a # 2 goalie in the world, but after this round allowing almost 4 goals a game, he's lucky to be a top 10 goalie, but he is a good regular season goalie but it stops there, i hope team Canada is smart enough not to have him as our #1 next year, or you may as well kiss the gold away.
Luongo = overrated
how about them canucks, hey clepto you must be in tears aftere that great goaltending.
