I have to agree with melrose and depressed. looks like "Pittsburgh Panic" by Shero. Go Go is one of the best young offensive defensemen in the league. https://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11052/1126987-100.stm also says "the Penguins apparently plan to make a serious attempt to acquire right winger Alex Kovalev from Ottawa."
"Holy Old Geezer Floater, Batman!!!"

IF NJDevils is correct and Crosby is probably out for the season, then this years playoffs are shot anyhow so WHY do STUPID SHIT? just use the adversity to build depth by playing top Baby Pens. most that have come up this season would be regulars on bottom feeder clubs like the Islanders, Avalanche, Senators or Oilers.
would REALLY hate to see Shero trade ANY of the top Baby Pens forwards for a "No Load" like Alex Kovalev

Might workout for both teams.

stars have morrow (proven) and benn (younger) who are two players similar to neal...loui the underrated is sick and we know they have some good centers with ribs, richards and ott
what they dont have is a player like goligoski in their system..they desperately needed a d

I agree.. Bad bad trade for Dallas, very bad
They are losing a young talented winger who may be a 30,35-goal scorer easily.. And now if Pens get healthy they will be scary.

I think the key is Niskanen. If he keeps playing like he currently is, then it looks pretty even. But if he can get back to the level that he was at when he first broke in, it'll be a steal for the Pens.

This trade does a few things for Dallas. 1) we get an offensive minded d-man who can move the puck. 2) Saves Dallas 2.5 million on the cap for next year. This money can be used to make another trade before the deadline or help re-sign Richards.
I would imagine Dallas will move Benn to left wingon the line with Richards and Erksson , once all are healthy..
I really liked Neal, I think he will be a 30 goal guy for years to come, He should do well in Pitt playing with Syd once he comes back.. The question is, how good is Neal really? He has a bunch of talent/potential.. However, he was rewarded by playing with Richards.. We will see..We are lucky enough here that practices are open to the public. The players all walk by you in the morning sign autos and take pics. I was at practice yesterday morning and it seems weird that you see the guys one morning and later they're gone.. I heard about the trade when I went to another rink and watched the NJ Devils practice here yesterday afternoon.. I asked Lou Lamoriello if he heard about the trade and his thoughts. He said interesting, but said he doesn't comment on other teams moves..

I never like to judge trades right away or after a few weeks..Results remain to be seen. I think in the long run it will be a good trade for both teams. As of right now, it's just benefited the Stars. I watched Neal for a few years here, he is a solid player.. However, he did benefit from playing with Brad Richards and Mr Underrated Loui Eriksson..
