Pens/Caps series prices

Interested in what this series price will be. Will Vegas dare to give a nice affordable price for the Pens? I've been pretty critical of the Pens defensive woes, but we all know how this story goes. The Pens own the Caps come playoff time, and the Caps will have to break that trend to enter the Conference Finals for the FIRST TIME in the Ovechkin era. Seeding means nothing at this point as we all know. I'm thinking Pens open up as -140/-150 favorites given the history of these 2 and the Pens also being 2 time defending champs. What do you guys think the price will be?

I'm curious to see if Vegas gives the Caps some credit for coming back 2-0 and also having home ice in the series. But like I said before, Caps can't seem to beat the Pens or anybody else for that matter in round 2. I'll be taking the Pens but if it's anything less than -140 (I can't imagine it would be) I'd have to go heavy on that

the sportsbooks seem to "over weight" the "home is advantage" in the playoffs so you COULD get the Capitals as the favorite or close to a -110/-110 "flat" bet

Pens are 9-1 all time in playoff series vs the Caps, but the Caps are 8-2 in Game 1's. Weird stat, but if you believe in stuff like that and want to take the Pens in the series, might be better to wait after Game 1

Really interesting stat thanks for that. But for me personally, I'll just be happy to get my bet in before the series starts because if the Pens do win game 1 that price will balloon big time and it most likely won't come down the rest of the series. If the Pens lose game 1 I just might throw some more on it at plus $. That is really interesting though. And really it just highlights how much the Caps choke against them if anything else

I have a hard time seeing that. You don't think the books would get absolutely pounded with Pens money if that were the line? I mean everybody knows the Caps playoff history, and the Pens success in the playoffs. I just have a hard time believing that the Caps will be the 1st team in 3 years to hand the Pens a series loss. That is tough to imagine

You and me both. 6.5 will become the regular line and I will still play it. Pens TTO2.5 on the road will be wonderful as well, I don't mind laying the juice when the bet will be won by the 2nd P. Lol

I'll say Pens -130 to -140. Pens obviously own the Caps in the playoffs. Also, a lot of casual bettors bet on the Pens. That's why they're such heavy favorites in so many games. If this opens up even money or in favor of the Caps, a ton of money will go on the Pens.

The Caps Pens Series is different to me this year.  No Marc Andre in the nets and the home ice is switched.  Caps had the home ice, Pens have it this year.

What that means to me ?

Penguins:

HW=home win 

AW=Away win

AL=Away loss

HL=Home loss

The + or - indicates the line based on placing a Penguins bet

2017 Washington home ice advantage

in 2017 with a better goalie (MAF) the Penguins we never more than -110 favorites.

2016  Washington home ice advantage

in 2016 with MAF in the nets the Penguins the Penguins were never laid more than -130

In my opinion the lines have been really Penguins friendly the past 2 years.    Back to back Cups and home ice I can see some higher lines on the Penguins this time around.  Add in the Penguins have Murray insteak of MAF in the nets and well see how that goes.

I predict the Caps have a stronger chance to win this series this season, and the odds will nice taking the Caps compared to the last 2 seasons.

Just my thoughts.

If Nash is -150 against the Jets I think the Pens have a better chance to beat the Caps than the Pred beating the Jets so

Would love to see the Capitals thrash the Penguins game one, as it would set up nice Penguin lines the rest of the way.

When both teams come off  some rest in playoff game ones, history has shown that it favors the away team and OVERs.

Surprising to me.

hmm I think I have no choice but to pound that line. History shows that is amazing value for a team that is 9-1 all time against the Caps. No pressure on the Pens whatsoever either. They have nothing to prove and the Caps will have everything to prove and a lot of demons to kill in this series. 

Better bang for your buck is Caps to win.

@-120 Pens series line, books want you to bite considering 9 straight playoff series won by Pens.

Im taking the higher road and leaning Caps for the series. I’ll be waiting to pull trigger @ +110/+115...I’m pretty confident Pens will be loved by many at the opening price. 

it looks like the books see washington pulling it off finally  and getting over that massive hump

i'm considering taking cap +350 EC instead 

if caps take down pitt, the road will get easier with tb unless boston win game 7 but even then it's about even

the only thing stopping ovech is crosby... the thing that should worry caps backers is the pedestrian goaltending.. huge advantage pitt there

can't see wazzu winning any low scoring games, overs throughout is a good strategy imo
