Playoff Big Dog "Bad Beats"....

three freeking games REALLY stand out so far these playoffs....

April 16th Avalanche @ Sharks - Game 2 in series. the Sharks Pavelski ties the game @ 19:28 and Setoguci wins it in OT 6-5. Ava's were a +230 dog and also blew a golden chance to go up 2-0 in the series going back to Colorado

April 17th Canadiens @ Capitals - Game 2 in series. the Caps Carlson ties the games @ 18:39 and Backstrom wins it 31 seconds into OT 6-5 as the Habs blow a 2 goal lead going into the 3rd period. Habs were a +300 dog and, like the 8th seed Ava's, also blow a 2-0 series lead going back to Montreal

April 24th (today) Predators @ Blackhawks - game 5 in the series. the Bhawks Kane ties @ 19:45 (short handed) and Hossa, who just finished a 5 minute major penalty, scores in OT to win it 5-4. the Predlies were a +220 dog and screw up their chance of a 3-2 series lead going back to Nashville

on a side note, my Penguins are doing their damnedist to make their series with the Senators WAY too interesting. lose in 3OT to take the series to 3-2 going to Ottawa and it's 1-0 Sens in the 1st period. Ottawa wins this to send it back to Pittsburgh tied 3-3, "the Penguins CHEESE get really BINDING"

still im taking pens at +130 at first intermission, the guinos are gonna wear em down and if the refs keep em out of the box they will do it 3-2 pens, let's go!

even though it was only a +145 moneyline, the Senators WERE @ home. blowing a 3-0 lead half way thru the game, AND getting eliminated, HAS to be considered a "bad beat" by anyone that bet them.

as a Pens fan, I'm just glad they came back and Flower didn't screw it up this time. the game was just what Dr Bylsma ordered. the Pens really haven't done the "Lazarus" in quite awhile and that should give them some "Mo" going into the next round. don't know WHAT would have happened in a game 7 back at "The Loo"

Ya there is always a chance of anything. just look at the Habs beating the Caps @ Washington when Halak stood on his head. IF Bryz does the same OR Howard comes unstuck, it could happen.

that being said, I think when Shane Doan went down for the Coyotes it made all the difference in their team. they haven't looked the same since and the RW's have dominated.
