Good morning! Wrap-up from my last post - I hope someone listened tailed the Aves/Sabres... I commented on a goalie appearance, I looked quickly at Levi's stats and thought I saw dashes across the board which I inferred as a start. A deeper dive would have showed me his first appearance was on 3/31 in their W against the Rangers. I misspoke! Let's take a look at some Round 1 playoff match-ups!
Hurricanes v. Islanders -Aho, Aho, it's off to work we go! This will be a great series. The Hurricanes have had a lengthy edge at UBS Arena; the Isles (in my opinion) had a relatively stagnant finish to the season. I didn't get a sense of much momentum like I did from watching Buffalo heat up. Both Sorokin and Andersen tout GAA's below 2.50, if they remain healthy and don't have huge defensive coverage blowups I would lean under on every game this series individually and expect to be up when the dust settles. Brazil back for the Isles (short boost), looking back over to the 'Canes they've had Jesperi (18g, 43p) display an onset of production; keep in mind most of this production was from the bottom half of their roster; but he's proven to be a surprising replacement for Trochek which includes good defensive play and less penalties. Overall a really exciting matchup! Now I know what you're thinking, 'but Prodigy how can it be an exciting series, that conflicts with you leaning under every game for the series, surely you realize you're mildly hypocritical'. Yes, yes, I know I lean under for the series but low/er scoring games can be exciting too!! Plus, PNC will be ROCKIN (like a hurricane?). These arenas will be loud and I am HERE FOR IT. Series prediction - Hurricanes take this series (let's go 4-1/4-2). Game 1 prediction - I think Hurricanes take this game (lean on the under, can see a 3-1/4-2 'Canes win).
Life obligations call... more to come later! Have a great rest of your morning! Cheers!
