Semin and Boyle....

I guess you all saw what happened and I failed to be here when it did.

IMO the Semin hit was completely clean and no penality was called.... Then Boyle does one of hockeys dirtiest play with intent to injure and they both get 2 minutes.

How is that?

How was Boyle not suspended for the rest of the Olympics?

I personally think he's a box for pullin that shit. Semin hit him fair and square. What Boyle did was an embarrassment to hockey.

Now I'm sure this will tick some off, I don't see how you can defend a box move like Boyles.

But how was it only 2 minutes to begin with?

Would easily be a immediate ejection in the NHL plus a suspention.

That play was a gross miscounduct, you get more for pulling hair in the NHL than what he got for that crap.

How the Olympics could allow him to play after that is beyond me. He should be suspended by Team Canada if they had any respect for the game.

If he would have been a man and dropped the gloves I would have respected that, but he knows that he would have been booted so he tried the dirty stuff and got away with it.

All the replay in the world and he's still gonna play....

Not your normal slew foot attempt, he clearly tried to injure Semin but screwed it up cause he's not as strong as Semin, or as tall. Had Semin been knocked out by hitting his head on the ice, what would have happened then? The intent to injure was so obvious and I can't believe this is being hushed and not addressed by anyone in charge.

It was pretty dirty. Semin should have gone bongos on his ass.

The link you've here is a total waste to the point and has NOTHING to do with Boyle's box ass play in the game vs Russia.

The Olympic will avoid letting it be shown on youtube since they would be embarrassed that they did not suspend Boyle for the dirty play.

Boyle is a punk ass box, no other way to put it.

And the fact that he is stil playing is a disgrace.

The broadcasters were also a joke for telling Kids that that's how to get revenge.

The Broadcasters have been a joke all tourney... all on Team Canada's balls 24/7.  I was about to hit the "Mute" button when they were reviewing Shea Webber's shot that went through the net against the Germans.

I'm surprised at the reaction here. Semin laid Boyle out in a 7-3 hockey game when the game was basically over. You pull that crap and you're going to get yours - and should.

Nothing wrong with Semin's hit from a technical standpoint, but if he wants to pull that garbage in that situation - against Canada especially - he's gotta know he's going to get some and can't just lie there like a victim and cry to the ref.

Semin was invisible all game and then all of a sudden he wants to be a somebody and drive Boyle through the glass in a situation where Boyle can't really protect himself?  

If Boyle didn't do anything there, he'd lose respect on his own bench. Instead, he gains it and Canada finishes the game with a little fire.   

so if i read this right....... it's not ok to put a clean hit on someone when the game is 7-3....... and if you do put a clean hit on someone (especially "against Canada"), then you are gonna get some dirty ass payback.......

Play until the final whistle blows? Russia didn't play from the time the puck dropped. Russia had zero intensity all game and then Semin got pissed and decided he was going to run somebody. If Boyle doesn't stand up for himself there, then he's the pussbag.

It's OK to try to lay somebody out when the game is dead at 7-3 and all the life has been sucked out of it if that's what you feel you need to do, but don't expect to walk away from it.

That's why I also said that I understand Boyle's side. There's nothing worse then getting laid out at the end of a game that is in all intents and purposes over. But why come back with a cheap shot? Get even with a harder, clean hit next time you play each other if you don't get the chance before the game is over. Or even show your frustration by doing something other than a leg sweep from behind that he didn't see coming.
