Hi Lips, just quick point regarding the winning records we are seen here on daily basis.
Would not be a great idea to get a bit tidy up and instead of seen some flashing 2 – 0 or 4 -2, 1 – 0, every day to convert it into real money profit (which is in my opinion will be more meaningful instead of just getting naked-number records), perhaps we all will be posting not just DET ML at home but also expected return (i.e. risking/keeping for the universal – convenience, for example, 1 unit risking/per bet = 100$ etc.,).
By the way, I did posted last night some question to the board about betting NHL Totals, their values and winning percentage in order to progress with the BR in the long run, believe it or nor just couple of guys responded….surprise? Not really, seems like good majority around here playing Totals in daily basis, my wild guess is, if you will ask some question regarding real profit and Totals bets half of those who are posting winning/numbers/records will be in difficulty to provide any sensible answer but will be keeping hard work to impress people around.
All of this is fine but a very big but as the result of this we could start to lose the value at this forum as well as the value of our betting insights.
Hopefully, all above should encourage people to work harder, dig deeper and think differently in order to produce positive profit instead of meaningless number-records.
Sports betting like any others stock market/forex/ whatever similar activities taking years (not days or months) to learn and perform.
If we here to help and learn, better to start it learn hard now rather than after 5 years time gone

While I agree with your post, it would be impossible for Lippsman to keep track of units won instead of record only. He has a hard enough job grading the board, especially early in the year when there are more posters. I would not want to do it every night like he has to now.
Observant members here know which guys post just to get there name on the leader board. There is no way some of these guys actually wager on the games they list, unless it is for $5 or $10. The chalky losses they occur can be staggering.
There is a veteran poster that nearly always eats heavy chalk and enjoys seeing his name up at the top. Another poster will take +1.5 (at huge chalk) when he wins 2 or 3 in a row just to keep his "streak" going. If Lipps' happens to miss his name on the leaderboard (I've seen it happen twice in the last 3 years), this guy will whine like a little bitch. I think Lou knows who I'm talking about. I think the term is attention person. He has been fairly quiet this year.
Many posters now list their records and units won/lost. However, I have noticed a few guys conviently forget about the juice they laid and don't correctly list their units after juicy losses. Example: -120 is counted as a even money loss (-100).
It is always makes me laugh when I see a guy go 1-1, but lose -0.30 for the night, blow it off as losing a "little" juice. As you well know, that is how books make their money.
Each individual would have to answer as why they post here. I don't believe most guys are here to learn.
As far as the lack of response to your questions...I 'm not sure. I can only speak for myself and tell you that I only click on a handful of threads to read and I'm sure there are others that do the same and perhaps missed the thread or didn't have time to respond.
There are a couple of handfuls of very smart veteran NHL gamblers here that can really help the board, but they seldom post their opinions, techniques and experiences.
This is a pick posting dominated board with minimal discussion.

TDD is right and its a shame. I would love to get more discussion going on the boards. Would love to get more involved with capping techniques with some of the veteran cappers on the board. Unfotunately it seems only a handful of posters actually cap and not just go with gut feeling picks and/or tailing other posters.

I would love to post my thoughts on every game that I play, there just is not enough time for me to post. When I do see something that I really like and no one else has addresses it, I will try to post. TDD is right though, after you are on this forum for while, you will see who the cappers are that are placing real bets and not just trying to get their name on the leader board. I am always looking for value and will mostly play dogs. that is one reason I love vicb's dog post....it is good to see who the hot cappers are and hopefully I am on the same page with them. There are times when some good discussions get going for certain games, though they are few and far between. GOod luck!

I think everyone has great input here. That's why it's the best board on the net by far.
But I just don't have the time I used to for writeups, observations and such. I will give a very detailed writeup on the teams I think will tank and rise above the rest at the start of ever year like I did again this year.......TB blowing......ahem.........
Maybe I will have time to do an all-star break writup.

For myself...I post my records and my unit total Loss/Win etc...
I also factor in the juice with a loss.
Showing you how much I play RE: $ really carries no weight considering all players $ will flucuate
that's why I/WE use unit totals
If you want to see real numbers on plays...take a look at (to name one SHARP ACTION) Sorry Sharp...it's true man...you post your real NUMBERS...he's never shy with what he's doing.
And in all honesty.....this is a HOBBY I have grown up with this sport-OH CANADA.
Only in the last 2.5 years have I started to lay some CHALK
My full time job enables me to use 2-3.5% of my BR per play.
If I get banged up...I'll slow down and never force a play to CHASE.
I'm in cruise mode at the moment
MY .2cents
JP
.
Stay safe and play smart

TDD I agree with this for the most part- usually its the 3,4,5,10,20 unit players IMO, Many posters now list their records and units won/lost. However, I have
noticed a few guys conviently forget about the juice they laid and
don't correctly list their units after juicy losses. Example: -120 is

Personally when I list my lines as -125 but it doesnt mean I wager that way 1.25 to win 1 unit
I prefer flat amounts for simplicity and minimizes losses when betting
favs by using fixed amt. Most I could lose on a -125, -150 or -180
is $ 25. This is 2.5 % of my bankroll. Doesnt rank with
many of you but its what I can afford- which is what is the most
important
1 unit to win .80 units @ -125 $ 100 to win $ 80 whereas a loss would correctly reflect -1 unit
Personal preference whether one wagers to "win 1 unit" or "risk 1 unit"
a game. For newer pucks players like myself, bankroll preservation is more important therefore I "risk 1 unit"
Grind out a profit.
I think everyone here would love to have a bankroll like Sharpaction
(and others) with the ability to lay up to 400$ a game but its not a
style everyone can handle -
As for the writeups, it seems every time you write one the game goes
the opposite way --personally my record isnt good with writeups
anyway-- but most days I barely get home in time to place wagers let
alone cap or write anything..
On those days I tail some of the more respectable cappers(king Scorpio,
Lipps, Andarmac etc) but dont post as my own because they arent
