I had planned to take a shot at PHL dog money with the run they've been on and with Swayman in net and most definitely was going to throw a unit on both BUFFALO and the O6.5
Neither game has started out how I would have liked had I bet so I guess its good for me I missed the early start times.
Hmmmm...

TB -130 No big write-up necessary here. Seattle returns home after a 7-game road trip. We all know the general betting rule when it comes to that first game back home after a long trip.

NYR -1 ½ +125 Halak is in net but there should be a rebound in total effort here tonight after a complete dud on home ice against one of the worst teams in the league. Luckily, they get to try and bounce back against an even worse team in Columbus here. That’s the angle…that’s it. Team had been finding ways to win going 13-2-2 then dropped a horrendous home game so expecting the rebound…just repeated myself. Done. Also, Columbus won their last game, and they haven’t strung together many back-to-back wins all season so there’s that, if anyone cares.
OTT -115 Scrappy Ottawa against a below average Blues team. Again, motivational angle here as Ottawa comes off being smashed by Colorado and I expect some sort of bounce-back effort tonight. Sens are 13-8-2 since late November which, for a team that’s been as bad as they have for so long, is impressive run over a good stretch of time. Special teams could be a factor here with the Sens owning the #6 ranked PP unit getting to operate against the Blues #26 ranked PK unit.
PIT -1 ½ +125 What a rollercoaster season for the Penguins; 4-0-1 start then lose 7 followed by an extended 14-2-2 stretch then they win only 3 of their last 12. Just odd. Home against possible the worst team in the league here with the worst goal differential at -81 could help the Pens get back on track here. As with the other bottom feeders like Chicago and Columbus, Anaheim when they lose, they do so at a high rate of multiple goals, so the puck line is always the play. They’ve lost 3-straight and been outscored 19-5 in the process. Connor Bedard and Trevor Zegras on the top line next season, anyone?
Good luck, everybody!

LAK -1/2 +120 There is no goalie confirmation here and I’m just guessing we see Wedgewood in net for the second half of a road back-to-back but I like the Kings in this spot at home here regardless. Copley hasn’t been amazing for the Kings but he’s getting it done winning 12 of 14 starts. Wedgewood has struggled giving up 8 goals in his last two starts with an .871 Save% Hoping for a despondent effort here on the road after giving away two points less than 24 hours ago from the traveling visitors.
BUF -125 Sabres need a win here. They’re honoring Ryan Miller before the game tonight so I’m expecting the home team to really give it their all for the home crowd especially after losing a 3-1 3 period lead their last game out—almost same scenario as Dallas but at home with the home crowd hoping for a jolt. Meanwhile Isles are 8-11-4 since a nice 15-8 start to the year and just 3-6-2 having won only 3 of their last 11 road games. Even Sorokin who is having a Vezina trophy season, if not for Ullmark, sees his stats come back down to Earth when on the road as he sports a .911 Save% and 2.83 GAA away from USB.
TB +100 I hate betting Oilers games as McDavid can skew all assumptions of any game he’s involved. I know Tampa is traveling and I know they’re on a back-to-back but I think the edge in goal here is just too wide of a gap to ignore between these two and getting even money on the Lightning is worth the betting risk.

Seems like we're playing with fire after getting burned the last couple nights with these same Stars and Sabres teams. I do like the Sabres to bounce back here, but sometimes these "honor" nights backfire on a team, don't know if it's from being all ready to go , and then having to stand around waiting for the ceremonies to end or what it is but, (and perhaps I'm imagining it) it seems more often than not there's a let down. Perhaps they could put Miller in net , he can't be much older than AndersonLOL
