was the toronto loss the biggest choke in hockey?

I am not a huge hockey fan so I don't know, but anyone know of a worse loss in a game 7? up 4-1 in the 3rd period?

If Toronto was the favourite, then yes; however, nothing tops blowing a 3-0 series lead.

in an NHL playoff game? probably YES. in a hockey game? NO.

in the 2009 NCAA Championship game, Miami-Ohio had a 3-1 lead  over Boston (Boston?) University. BU pulled their goalie and scored with 59 seconds to go. they then pulled him again and scored with 17 seconds to go. BU then went on to WIN in the 1st OT.

I took a Royal Screwing in THAT game TOO

saw similar happen in a Thrasher @ Capitals regular season game a few years back but NOT in a playoff game EVER and I have been watching NHL games for over 50 years

They didn't have momentum, they were on their heels.
I think Toronto only had 2 shots on goal after Boston made it 4-2

How about that 4-0 or 4-1 lead (late in the 3rd) Dallas blew with Turco a few years back in LA during the regular season.

now that there are 3 teams joining the leaf division...leafs wont make playoffs until we're all dead and burried.

It was only the second time a team has come back such a large deficit in the third period to win a game. The Blues scored their six goals in 15 minutes and 27 seconds, making it the fastest time a team has come back from a five-goal deficit in NHL history.

Montreal Canadiens greatest comeback was when they were down 5-0 to the Rangers about 7 years ago in Montreal.
