Avs bounced back after taking Van lightly, and ran their rare-air home record to 7-1 in the win vs CGY. Even Theodore has bounced back, and now they are jelling with depth. They host the cellar-dwelling OILERS, 0-3 since they sucked it up to beat Burke's Ducks in the Penner vengeance game, and have 4 gf and 11 ga in that streak. They are a putrid 4/60 on the PP, 2-6 on the road, 1 for 7 vs the Avs recently, and suffering key injuries.

This from the Ed. Journay sums up their sad state:

You can blame the (5-2 Min) loss on not having Sheldon Souray (shoulder), Joni Pitkanen (knee) and Matt Greene (ankle) in the lineup. That's three of Edmonton's top four blue-liners, along with Staios. (Though Min was missing Gaborik/Demitra).
