Which teams ranked 5 - 8 have the best shot to make a big splash this year?

Boston is the best value. I know there are always upsets in NHL playoffs and no doubt a couple more will happen but the other series seem like playing roulette.

The Boston/Buffalo series seems 50/50 to me and getting +145 or so seems like a good bet. I've seen some people pick Buffalo as a good longshot to win cup but I don't think they are that strong. They seem inconsistent to me. Sometimes teams that failed as a very high see come back as lower see and make more noise. I see that in Boston.

Redwings and Kings both move on from the west.

I see the east being square - #1 -#4 all make it with buffalo getting a little bit of a push from Boston but not enuf to worry about

I think they were 5 - 1 in the regular season but I don't put too much emphasis on that. I remember Toronto getting dominated by Ottawa during the reg season about 6 years ago ... and Toronto bounced them in 7

Best cahnce of lower seed is obviously detroit.

Best value in lower seeds are Kings & Flyers

Bruins are a good pick, but there D is banged up right now. But they have couple great 3rd D-men In there goaltending with Rask and Thomas. And everyone knows you need goaltending in the playoffs.

Like the Kings as a dark horse to take out the Knucks. This team is better then people think they are but they are young and lack playoff experience. I think they take them to 7 games.

1st time kings in the playoffs in years, i can see 6 games but i can't see the nucks losing. until @ least the 2nd round.

I am biased as a B's Fan but I think they have a 50/50 shot of taking out the Sabres.

I think Ottawa may well bounce the Pens. I don't like how their playing.

And a little birdie tells me to watch out for Nashville. I will likely be playing them at big +money in Games 1 and 2 and wouldn't be shocked if that series goes the limit.

I agree Detroit has a good shot but I think that series will also be a very hard fought one. The Yotes have impressed me all year and I love their D and goalie.
