Toronto Raptors won the NBA Championship in 2019, and the Toronto Blue Jays won back to back World Series in 92 & 93.
Toronto sports teams aren't jinxed except for the sad sack Maple Buds! 54 years and counting....

I am so saving that clip......
Just to rub in your face (the year it happens and you & I are still alive)
Also, it was kind of relaxing to listen too.... my new bed time lullaby to take me home to where dreams come true.

Flutie when was the last time the Maple Leafs won a Game 7?

Hey Canada Cup,
Here's a little story since you asked;
Born in 1964, so I was alive for 2 LEAF cups! As it stands now and since 1976 I am a dyed in the blue wool LEAF fan and always will forever bleed & cry blue blood & tears no matter what.
However, my birthplace was Montreal, as such I was raised a HABS fan and righteously so from the age of 5 watching hockey night in Canada on my dad's lap every Saturday night
When I was 7 yrs old (back in 1971) my dad took me to many games.
Either way since 1969-1974, TV or live, I witnessed the greats;
Yvan Cournoyer, Guy LaFluer, the Mahovlich bros (Frank & Pete), pocket-rocket Richard, Tony Esposito, Guy LaPointe, Jacques LeMaire, Jean Beliveau, Rogie Vachon, Ken Dryden, the list goes on & on
Playing against other greats like Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, the list goes on
Back then MTL was a tour de force dynasty and one I was proud to be a big fan of I kept an NHL scrap-book that had the pictures of all my favourite Montreal Canadiens players

After my parents got divorced in 1976 my mom & I moved to Toronto and the new friends I made here weren't too hospitable towards my lean on The Habs so I faked liking The Leafs in order to get along. Well, in no time at all (call it brain-washing if you will), I slowly became a fan somewhere down the line!
I remember Harold Ballard was the franchise owner and a real piece of crap. Didn't care about the team at all, never did anything to improve them. The players, coaches and staff had talent & integrity but burnt-out without his support until the team just went into a freefall nosedive
Everybody (and I mean everybody) from my friends to the press wished he would just go away but he never did cause he knew it was a cash cow No matter how bad The leafs were they continually sold out and sold merch. Knowing he (Ballard) would never give up command of that empire people just started wishing him dead,
Finally that day happened and I was tickled pink about it only to hear everyone around me who hated him all those years be remorseful ?! Like WTF ?! Dude's dead ! This is a glorious day ! I couldn't be happier ! I was made out to be the bad guy for my delight ? Screw you all ya double talkers. I had high hopes for things to come. I laughed even harder when a legal battle broke out shortly thereafter between his greasy underling minions all fighting for custody of his empire when no formal will was left. What a total douchebag. Used up all the people close around him leaving them high & dry. Don't get me wrong here, the minions surrounding him were all vampires too and deserved nothing I just hope the whole lot of them are rotting in hell as we speak

These are not the HABS of old. I find MTL to be a dirty team, leading the league in penalty minutes.
And wtf, the province of Kebek had one of the highest spreads of covid, their govt put a stay at home order lockdown with curfew enforced by police ! Yet the second it's over, it's ok to put fans in the stands at an NHL playoff game not only in the middle of, but at a critical juncture after a year of exclusion in the effort to sway the outcome to their favour by having fans in the stands ?
That's dirty politics as far as I can see. Thankfully their plan didn't work. The Leafs did lose but by their own accord. Still, it was a cheap trick.
Leafs should & must win this series (not because I love them or have 200 units on it, but because they are the better team), and if they win, will get by Winterpeg and if somehow The NYI can turn the Bruins into Boston cream pies, (who are kryptonite to us), may have a chance to go deeper, but all that matters to me right now, is dispatching The scHabs. (pronounced SCABS)
I'm going to make a prediction here; COL wins the cup.
If MTL beats TOR, I hope they get to meet COL (who are formerly The Quebec Nordiques, and the greatest foe MTL ever had) and lose badly to them.
Other than that, I can only say 1 thing; I will be wagering against MTL from now till I die.
Hope you enjoyed my rant.
Peace Out LANDSHARK!

I don't want to drone on & on here, but they took out our captain and star player in the 1stP of game one. Not saying it was planned or on purpose but from where I sit, no matter how fast it all happened - it was avoidable. These players have quick reflexes. This was not a distracting event like attempting to score. It was the middle of the ice.
None the less, Johnny T is out, our best newest acquirement Foligno is not 100%, Thornton is old, biding his time, a true shark and not a true leaf.
Bottom line is Mathews, Marner & Nylander need to live up to the money they're paid and save the day.
I'm running out of blue blood & tears to bleed & cry ! If they don't get the job done sack 'em. open up the salary cap and let's get people who can before the decade ends.
Enough of the pain, agony, misery & suffering already. UGH
