The 100 plays in a 100 days MLB Office Pool - Official thread

Just under a week to go until the new season and here’s a little competition for the box crew - The 100 plays in a 100 days challenge,which will be invitation only but all the P box regulars along with a few outsiders will be allowed to join.

Look for your name below to see if you made the list and I’ll be sending you a friend request in the next few days and the password will be sent out next Wednesday afternoon/evening just before the opening pitch of the new season.Please accept my friend request you can remove me from your list after you’ve got the password and again please don’t share the password with other members.

The Rules and format

? It begins on Opening Day Thursday March 31^st and ends just over a hundred days later on Monday July 11^th the day before the All Star game.

? Both sides and totals will be available to pick from and pending picks are not displayed to other members.
? Picks based on 100 units, not 100 to 500.

? As mentioned it’s open to penalty box regulars and past inmates with a few additional members who I have sole discertion inviting to join.Anyone who unwittingly gets the password and joins unvited will be disqualified and will certainly not be eligible for the winner’s prize.

? The overall winner will get a prize which I have yet to determine.Will let you know in due course will most probably be a $50/$100 gift card or maybe a no rollover freeplay with a sportsbook or something along those lines.Hell it may just as easy to send cash in an ? or by paypal or something.I’ll figure it out soon enough.

? I will be playing in the contest as well and in the unlikely event of me winning, whoever finishes second to me shall win the prize.

? The first tiebreaker should need arise will be whoever has won the most games. eg 64-33-3 will beat 63-30-7 should these two both be level on + units won.Second tiebreaker will be predicting the winner and score in the All Star game the day after the contest is over.

The reason I’ve chosen the 100 play option over a relatively short timeframe is it is a better measure of skill than going in and picking every side and total everyday of the week from now until the end of the season.No one bets like his in the real world and a 100 picks in 3 months is a lot closer to what most of you will be betting in terms of # of games, ok it might be a little less but it should be easy enough to get above .500 if you’re only picking an average of a game a day.Most of you should hit at least 55% and show a profit.

Also this format also allows you to take a couple of weeks off and still be in with a chance if winning so you can make all your picks in the last 2 weeks of June if you wish.

Right the players (if anyone feels I’ve left out anyone please indicate below) Hope that most of you guys get involved and good luck to those that do. Let me know what you think

You got just under a week to devise a winning strategy   I expect to see you go 68-30-2

Passwors will be sent out next Wednesday after pre season is over as the pool section won't let you start your contest on certain days, only on a Monday the start of the week.

So a guy that picks a -200 favorite every day can still win even if they only hit 50%....with this system there is no reason to take big dogs then....

No that'll be the first tiebreaker should units won be level  

All office pools are based on the most + units won
