there are a few different angles you could attack this from AB, ie situational factors like look-aheads, let-downs ect, although with every team having roughly a week to re-set and get ready for battle, those things tend not to be that big a factor imo.
You could also look at trends relating to line moves. Just throwing around some quick ones that come to mind at 20 to midnight
I'm thinking from a purely quantatative point atm. Opening lines, closing lines, totals (maybe), time of day, su result and ATS result...
But I'm a busy man, so I doubt I'll be able to note every line / total etc

and who the fcuk has time to watch the movements over the course of a weekend as well.
I'm pretty sure I made a mental note during last season that I noticed quite a number of big line moves getting crushed.

I'm thinking Centrebet lines, which open Tuesday arvo (before all the other cowardly books).
Closing lines will be a little tougher, half hour before kick-off?
I may need help recording the closing lines is all...

Yep
Shattered I was.
Then I bought another staffy on the rebound, as all smart pet owners do.
Now I have Owen boy

AB, there's a couple of other situational type trends that might be worth looking into like how teams fare the week after winning straight up as an underdog, and in particular when they're a favourite the week after winning straight up as a dog.
Over the next couple of months I might slowly but surely try to gather up the prices for last year's games and compare them to the results ect and see if there is anything in anything
I figure most if not all of our weekly footy threads with the prices ect are still in the covers archives.

I wonder what the defending premiers' ATS records have been over the past decade or so. Given the eveness of the comp and the fact most teams that win the comp either suffer a horrendous hangover the next year or are significantly dismantled by the salary cap, or both, PLUS the fact they are ineffitably over-valued by the books because they are the premiers, hmmmmm
others worth a look might be the record of teams the week after playing the reigning premier (also the record of a team that knocked over the premiers the week before). The record of teams the week after playing the Broncos.
