Has been another good season in AFL and only a few games left but always finish strong in finals so hopefully that continues. Have decided to pass on taking Collingwood tonight, West Coast down missing three key midfielders Judd, Cousins and Kerr but West Coast still have a decent side, they are at home and have a lot of finals experience. I just can't find enough strengths in Collingwood's squad to consider them a serious finals threat, although they have done well this season and are still in the hunt... so credit to them. I consider Collingwood a slight edge to win this game but not enough for me to take them, the odds have them as slight favourites as well so the money is probably spot on... let's pass.
The other game will be very interesting, Hawks have done very well to get to the semis with their young squad and as my mate said (diehard hawks supporter) they have done better than anyone expected and any win from here is a bonus. Well they may get a win here, but I'm expecting a very good fight from the Kangaroos who would hate to bow out in straight sets after finishing in the top 4. The Kangaroos looked horrible when they got slaughtered 156-50 last week by Geelong, but Geelong have been the best side this year and perhaps really just put the foot down on the pedal now finals have arrived. Anyway I'm taking the points here, I expect the Kangaroos to put up a really good fight and this may be a very good match. The Roos did beat them by 6 goals earlier in the year, but Franklin was missing in that match and has been in superb form lately. Can the Kangaroos play better than they did last week, against the Hawks I would think so; let's give it a go. You can get +14.5 if you're at Lasseters.
Kangaroos +13.5
