1. Why would losing to Geelong be a "choke"?
What kicking 2 goals for the 2nd half isn't choking. Collingwood clearly have the talent to beat Geelong.

2. Why last year's PF loss a painful memory to erase any more than Geelong's only loss of the season to Collingwood in '08?  Geelong still sour from that and never will let that happen again.

So regular season game is more important than the PF

This team has no fear against Geelong with their form, they know they can beat them and besides it's not the finals.
3. Great form, yes but why would that mean they have no fear against Geelong when Geelong had pumped them 3 times the year before and by 73 points or so in previous meeting?

You clearly don't understand what I mean by no fear, they know they can outplay the Cats.

4. Explain

Loss to Carlton, scraped a win against the hawks. Compare that to their record at skilled, pretty ordinary to me.

5. 1.75 is not short, it was only a -3.5  line.  Not like they were $1.30 and 20 point favourites.  I don't think Geelong have been a dog for years, this was as close to as even odds Geelong have been for some time by memory.

This was an even match up to me before the game, Collingwood CHOKED! you were at the game for christ sake, did you not see the was they played after mid way thru the 3rd Q or were you too busy watching your boys run around.

Your thought process is obvious, Geelong doesn't lose. Not long ago they were defeated by the blues 'The big premiership contenders'

So I've answered your questions and explained further.

To me, choking means losing when you are clearly expected to win (eg if Collingwood was playing Richmond) or losing the game by falling to shit when you had it in the bag (eg up by 40 points mid way through 3rd and losing from there).  Losing to a good team when you are the underdog (even slight) in my opinion is not the definition of choking in sports.  How is losing in this case a choke? I believe it's also choking when you're scoring 120+ against decent opponents to only end up with 50 and turn in a shit performance. To not play to their full potential and get run over like the wooden spoon contenders is also choking from a team that was on top of the table. No one expected anything, they had the form so you couldn't deny their chances.

I believe and have heard on the radio that the 86 points loss in '08 was a big embarrassment and they would not let that happen again to Collingwood.  I agree with you that the loss in PF would be a great motivational factor for Collingwood to win, I was simply adding Geelong would have their own motivations to win (in addition to a statement for a threat)
'Not let happen again'.... common mate, does this apply for Carlton also. Great team like Geelong losing by 6 goals to the same team twice. Why weren't they motivated in Round 5?

My interpretation of the term 'hold no fear' is that a team has right to be confident of the upcoming match due to previous meetings.  Perhaps I misunderstood the point you were trying to get across.
Collingwood had every right to be confident for this clash. They were not only beating sides but blowing them off the park. Hence the no fear attitude and self belief was expected. They know they can beat Geelong, only 3 meetings ago they won by 86, wouldn't call the 2009 regular season meeting a bad beat like the '09 PF

Trying to understand how you reached this conclusion, a 2-1 record this year at MCG and last time on the ground was a grand final victory following undefeated finals series. Not saying you are wrong, just asking for explanation of your statement.  Which you've done now.

My question here was, did you think $1.75 was too short an odd for Geelong to win the game?  That is what your statement indicated.
My comment was that those odds were as near an even betting match Geelong has been in years. 
I looked at this match up last night as a coin flip, I've also put in the factor that Collingwood were distraught after the '08 PF performance against Geelong, these two sides were the hottest team going into this contest. One team played true to their form and the other one shied away from the contest. The game should have gone down to the wire.
The final parts of your post there seems like a personal attach to me, no comment.
Sorry if I sounded like an asshole, I'm only saying that I know you're a Geelong supporter, that's why you can't seem to understand my point of view.
