Asean basketball league

I don't know if anyone has been following this but it seems that late this year there will be a new league in Asia called the Asean league which will obviously be teams from the various asian countries.

The Singapore Slingers just signed up so I am not sure what that says about it. Wonder however if the NBL does go belly up how many Aussie players and/or teams end up joining it.

I suspect most NBL players will try to get European contracts where the exchange rate is so much better than our asian neighbours. But average players like Daniel Joyce will have no choice but sign up to the Asean League, that's if he's up to  standard.
