Former AFL stars Saverio Rocca and Ben Graham
will face off on Monday morning when Rocca's Philadelphia Eagles play
Graham's Arizona Cardinals to decide who makes it to the Super Bowl.
The victor will become the first Australian to play in American football's showpiece game.
Rocca
will join former Geelong captain Graham in the NFC championship final
after his Philadelphia Eagles defeated reigning Super Bowl champion New
York Giants 23-11 yesterday.
Anthony, who spoke to his brother
in the US after the victory, said he felt confident about the Eagles'
form in the lead-up to the NFC decider.
"I've spoken to Sav
and he's really excited about the way the team is playing and the fact
they have advanced further in the playoffs,'' the Magpies forward said.
"But they're not in the Super Bowl yet, they have to beat
Arizona. He's had a good season and is enjoying the experience and it
would be great if they could win again and reach the Super Bowl.
If the Eagles defeat the Cardinals, Anthony may travel to the US to watch his brother play in the Super Bowl.
"It's a bridge the club and Anthony will cross if the Eagles win this week,'' a club spokesman said.
Graham's Arizona Cardinals advanced to the NFC title game after defeating the Carolina Panthers 33-12 in the NFL playoffs on Sunday.
The clash of the Aussie punters guarantees one Australian will line up in the biggest event on the US sporting calendar.
The winner will play in the Super Bowl in Tampa Bay on February 2.
Former Collingwood and North Melbourne spearhead Rocca had eight punts for the Eagles yesterday, averaging 43.1 yards (39.4m) in the upset win.
The last time Rocca and Graham played against each other in the NFL was in 2007, when the Eagles defeated the New York Jets, Graham's former team.
Rocca, 35, beat former Eagle Dirk Johnson for the punting job at a training camp in 2007.
Graham, also 35, only joined the Cardinals in December after being cut by the New York Jets in September after a four-year stint.
Graham and Rocca are among only six Australians to have played at the highest level of American football.
They follow Colin Ridgway, Colin Scotts, Darren Bennett and Mat McBriar.
