Firstly.....need to apologize to anyone who may have followed my play last week and took the Demons I have now officially given up on them and certainly not a team to bet money on anymore. My best mate is a die hard Dees fan and we often talk alot of footy and he gave me some pretty compelling reasons as to why they'd win against Dogs regardless of their past records etc. Unfortunately they have a few players that are a little more overrated than what the media have you believe, blokes such as Maloney, Sylvia and Rivers who are 27 mature players and still unable to play consistent football week in and week out like other players with that many games experience and age.
Onto tonight's clash and what a game it will be May as well say it now...I'm taking Geelong and hope that doesn't put you off because most gamblers are aware to stay away from 'own team' persuasion but I do believe we will play a far more intense and physical style of game than the effort we produced last week. The Eagles have been quite incredible this year and they absolutely destroyed the Blues only a coupld of weeks back to really put their hand up as a genuine contender for season 2011. Embley, Priddis, Selwood/s, Darling, Cox, Hurn and Glass in particular have been sensational. This game is going to come down to one thing, contested marks inside 50 and losing Lynch means Kennedy or Darling will need to rotate further up the field than usual but it may also be beneficial because it will allow LeCras to play one on one where he's nearly the best small forward in the game today.
The ruck duel will be awesome but I also see West Coast winning this battle as Cox at his best is always a better player than Ottens and Naitanui with his 40 inch vertical leap is going to really test out young Vardy's athletiscm for the 1st time at senior level. I still feel that Geelong have too many forward options, the names of Varcoe, Menzel, Stokes, Podsiadly, Johnson, Chapman and also Vardy will see them always have a hold of the game. The midfield players of Ling, Corey, Bartel, Duncan and Kelly will all be on their game and I think the competition will once again see the most underrated midfielder in Joel Corey really show his true value. He loves the big grounds, has an incredible gut running ability and will rack up 30 or more disposals.
This game will be an absolute beauty but I really can't see Stevie J or Bartel playing two poor games in a row and when those two in particular play better than average by their standards, it stacks up in Geelongs favor. Cats will win this game by 33 points
good luck.

I like the under as well Cats rested Mackie for a reason...he has been turning it over on the larger ground such as Subiaco. They are number for keeping opposition teams to about 70-85 points and they have rarely had the opportunity to play on Friday night with all AFL followers around the country tuning in tonight to watch em perform. Can see us winning between 4-6 goals but again it's too risky taking a total because we have been averaging over 100 points a game and you can see West Coast scoring at least 75-85 points themselves. 185.5 total will be mighty close

They have absolutely no chance of beating Collingwood in September. 0%. Nada
So better enjoy the regular season although even that they won't be top of the ladder for long
i wouldnt be so sure on that!
they are IMO the only team that can beat the pies!! lets not forget they are MISSING selwood (who i personally had $$$$ to win the brownlow this season) and stevieJ had a mare last night. they played a team last night that kicked a lot of bullshit goals and is playing pretty well. its very hard for teams to play in the west cause of the massive travel. SUBIACO used to be named house of pain due to the pure FACT that when eagles and dockers were still shit not a single team could win over here. not even the top dogs.
anyone who is riding off the cats after 2 losses (both by less than 10 and combined for 12points-and their ONLY 2 losses) are sheer fools!!!! you dont win 13 straight and all of sudden become no hopers

spot on and I really don't think Collingwood are the clear premiership favourites now. West Coast are seriously good this year but Carlton have also closed the gap on the top 2 this season. Kreuzer is a massive x-factor, if he stays fit and improves from here on in then they could have the forwards and midfield to trouble Collingwood and us in particular. I agree Frenchy that Collingwood are tremendous but I still am unsure why they get so much love from fans? They really struggled to beat St Kilda in the 1st Grand final last year where most other top teams would have had no issues in putting them away when that chance came around. Collingwood are going to be tested in the following 6 weeks because without Dawes it takes away a massive presence that has been allowing Sidebottom, Krakouer, and alike to feed off the drop ball then quickly get it across to Cloke.
It doesn't matter if you finish 1st or 2nd either because regardless you gotta play Hawthorn, West Coast or Carlton and beat them to progress. I still reckon Bartel isn't 100% but I do know Geelong are right now in a form slump and should have realized before this Eagles match. They had an enormous pre-season and the effects of that are being felt and it's usual for these losses to occur now. Hawkins, Mooney, Selwood, Mackie, Milburn even Byrnes due to his pace who didn't play on Friday night will all be playing in September and Chris Scott knows that playing the young kids as he's done thus far has really given invaluable rest into the whole list. You must be either slow or drunk to suggest Geelong have no chance of beating Collingwood in September. I reckon Geelong won't win the round 24 clash as Scott will likely have a couple of cards up his sleeve for that eventual Grand final showdown

wouldn't discount Hawks either, although Roughead won't come back they'll still get the rest of their team back come September and they have troubled Collingwood in the past, forget their recent matchup...Hawks are trouble for anyone in finals footy.

I was one of a few that backed West Coast and I hope to hell I am the only one who backed West Coast by 8 in Sportsbet Friday 500.
lol @ you thinking Carlton are a premiership contender. Carlton beating shit teams and losing to top teams does not make a premiership contender. Collingwood will wipe the floor with Carlton next week.
Collingwood have this flag won.

About time Geelong's wheels are falling off.

I am just amazed how Geelong keep scoring each week. I've never rated their forward line. I don't think the Cats rate it either; Hawkins dropped, Mooney dropped, Stokes has been in and out of the team for the last 3 years, Stevie J is hot and cold and wasn't J-pod their conditioning coach or something.................. yet they keep scoring.
Pies don't have it won yet but they are definitely favourites. Hawks have too many injuries. Cats seem to have the wobbles and Weagles although they might be a good team, finals is a different game.

lol...you are one sad balding individual bolar
firstly, Geelong aren't too fussed and either am I. Means nothing because we will finish 1st or 2nd anyways which means a home final, double chance and exactly where we play our best footy.
Carlton, Hawthorn, Geelong and Collingwood can all win the flag, why? Because they will finish in the top 4 bolar. Collingwood are good but very overrated in the medias eyes due to their marketing which gets them the most news day in and day out.
Geelong's has 10 indiviual goal kickers who have kicked over 10 goals for the year and Collingwood have 11. We are the only two teams with that stat which basically means, you guard our best forwards and we rely on the others to kick goals too. If we were only relying on Podsiadly or Johnson like Sydney, Carlton, West Coast do then yep...we may be in trouble. It's all about finals footy bolar and I suspect you are from a rugby background because you sound like you know very little about AFL. Check the statistics to see just how many clubs have gone back to back in over 100 years of footy Who were the best team in 2008?, 2009? What happened to them in those years?
Cats and Collingwood grand final

hey Kevin, I see two games that will be 50/50...Adelaide v Essendon and North Melbourbe v Bulldogs.
I sorta like the Crows tonight because of Essendon's terrible away record and the fact it will be a night match and the Simon Goodwin move to the Essendon coaching staff will add a little extra spice regardless of Adelaide's recent form slump. They do play much better at home and I just dunno if Essendon are legitimate or yet another pretender. Will be a tight game that one
North have been a far more competitive side than the Dogs this year and it's also Swallow's 100th game so they will be ready for this game. Like the Kanagaroos which are paying like $3

I agree Magpies are the team to beat but seriously french, you gotta admit that you are wrong about the Cats and that really...it's down to only 2 teams this year. Melbourne aren't one of the worst teams either and they will most likely finish in 8th position on the ladder and play finals so you are again showing signs of no AFL knowledge at all. Cats & Magpies have nearly identicle statistics for the season which is a true indication of how things will likely pan out from here on in. I can definitely see the Hawks gaining momentum and they are a team that always plays well against Geelong. Carlton will be there but I'm not sure they have enough players when the chips are down to really trouble Geelong, Collingwood or Hawthorn in a final.

shouldnt be getting cocky after beating a team that clearly didnt turn up. there is no doubt cats had the most value at start of the season to win it. but u couldnt be more wrong bout the dees! they wont play finals. and to take anything out of beating them the way u did last week says fuck all. melbournes game last week was the worst by any team this season i wouldnt be bragging bout that in anyway.

nah not bragging roo, cocky? of course we've played in 3 of the past 4 grand finals and I seriously don't see anyone else other than Hawthorn, Collingwood and us making it again. The 1st final will be Cats v Hawks and that will likelt decide who plays in the grand final. You really can't see them playing finals roo? I tell you what, watch the game against Carlton this weekend and you may start to question yourself
