OK, I am not going to over-analyze this match as I think simplicity wins the day here. Geelong have been flying along whilst the Dockers have quite possibly, outside of WC and the Dees, been sporting the worst form of the comp.
Geelong covered this line against the tough Swans. They didn't even need the whole match to do it, just the final ten minutes. Fremantle, on the other hand, shot their load against the Crows, but came up about three goals short. That is not very far away from this line. Geelong is much better than Adelaide. Also, do remember that had the Dockers been given the same head-start as they receive this round versus the Tigers, they still wouldn't have covered.
Whilst Ling is a gameday concern for the Cats, Tarrant is out for the Dockers. And this just in, Headland will be joining his mate Chris on the sideline, out for this match. Fremantle need all their playmakers to have a shot at this one. Losing two of their more respectable players will do them no favors.
All-in-all, after stepping back and looking at this match and this line again, it becomes clearer and clearer that we are getting a decent bargain here on the Cats. Only five goals and a chip needed to cover against a rapidly plummeting Dockers side. Surely the Dockers will turn it around, as they have too much talent around the pitch to sulk for the rest of the season. However, I am wagering on the fact that it won't start this weekend.
Play is: Geelong -30.5

Good luck. I agree with you on this selection, but I wouldn't go as far as to say Tarrant is one of Fremantle's more respectable players :) Collingwood gladly got rid of him and he has done nothing at Freo. Pies got the much better result from that trade by picking up Medhurst who has really added another dimension to their forward line.

True, gmanea. I was going to preface the Tarrant remark with a side-note, but skipped it. I had to get to bed. Hahaha... And Medhurst did himself a fine job tonight as well.
As for the tip, could this have been any further from the truth? Was it the Anzac emotion? What was it? Geelong looked the shyte and they still pipped it. Unreal. For sure I thought they would out-run and out-gun the Dockers, but Pavlich did his due and they had no answers. But, being Geelong, they still did enough to win.

Just saw that some punter dropped $30,000 on Fremantle +32.5 to cover against the Cats. Biggest Australian bet of the round, by far.
If I would have seen that, I might have held off this one! What did that punter know to drop $30k on bloody Fremantle.......FREMANTLE!, against the killing Cats machine?
Wow.
He must have knew something we didn't.................?
