Interesting snippet in the SMH today about online sportsbetting

So we are still going on about my mate from the TAB?

He has.......He told me for NRL, a group of people sit around a table and they right down what they believe should be the odds for each game. Then they collate them together and pretty much average it out.

For American sports, he said someone from from the states sends them the odds.

Regarding the NRL, i find this very difficult to believe as all books pretty much have the same odds.

You trying to say that all these RANDOM people from different bookmakers pretty much have the same idea on what the odds should be?

And i am sure they offer odds to there top end clients BEFORE anyone else in the market.

When you wait for a half time bet, you are on the website and the market isnt up yet, as soon as it comes on , the market has already been hit.

So i decided to see for myself, just before half time i called up and as it it half time, no market was up. The operator kept on refreshing her screen and so was i....no market....Then all of a sudden the market was up and it was already hit.....

My mate swears to me that they dont do this but how else can you explain a market been hit before it is available to me or anyone else i can see?
