A rematch of last season's final. I appreciate this form of the game is hard to cap, but it is about form and I'm prepared to have a play on the short priced favourites here.
So far this season the Vics' have posted totals of 203, 184 (chasing) and 161 for 2 wins, whereas WA has notched up 121, 149 (chasing) and 132 (chasing, reached in final over) for 2 wins respectively. However, there is no question that the WA team has not met expectations so far this season. Victoria have only lost 2 games in this competition before (granted, there has only been two seasons) and I don't expect them to lose at the G.
Victoria have defeated WA in both games of the Ford Ranger and Sheffield Shield this season and have a psychological advantage over the men from west who have dropt the out of touch Pomersbach for this match. Whilst the Vics' are coming off a dissapointing loss to the last placed Queensland side, this will only motivate the top order to be more aggressive from the start.
This is a vital game for both sides, each aiming for a 1st place finish for a sure entry to the final and a berth in the Champions League. Victoria has named McDonald in the side and he is an important inclusion for the Victorian team.
