    YTD: 53-36  +14.2u

    West Sydney v Singapore over 206.5  2u

Was considering the under until I read an article on the pigs website:

But on the back of a 10-day lay-off the Razorbacks are planning a return to the frenetic style that elevated them to fourth position on the ladder in the opening rounds.
"Having this rest has probably regenerated the guys' energy levels, they want to come in and we want to play a real up-tempo game and get back to what we did in the first few rounds where we were successful," Beveridge said.

Singapore are usually happy to oblige. Singapore's 2pt% has been terrible in the past 6 games, with Helms and Grizzard generally being the main culprits. Hopefully they can make a few more baskets against the west sydney defence which can be fairly pourous.

    Sydney -10  1u
Feel a bit uncomfortable with this after Perth's smashing of Melbourne, but based on form over the whole season I have Sydney winning by about 20.

Perth's away form has been terrible with their last two being double figure losses to the bottom two sides Wollongong and Singapore.

Sydney have won four of their last five home games by double figures, the only exception a five point win over Brisbane.

    Gold Coast v Adelaide under 190.5  1u

    YTD: 54-38  +14u

    Souths ML $1.91  4u
Generally only bet one or two units with the odd 3u play, but I like this one and am upping my bet.

    Why?

    - NZ are without their two imports again
    - last week without their imports they competed against Cairns for three quarters then got overun. Penney and Jones scored 58 of their 100, Penny 5/11 3s, Jones 5/9 3s. Stop Penney and Jones hitting 3s and NZ next best scoring options in my opinion are Ronaldson, Forman and Winitana. If these three beat you shouldn't be in the league.
    - last time they played Penney was held to 11 points @ 25%, supposedly mr jingles did a superb defensive job.
    - without rickert jawia dominated. Hendrix is a similar size and has a similar game to jawai and should cause problems if he plays down low. Burston should also be adifficult matchup for NZ - Ronaldson, Vukona and Behrendorff are not big enough.
    - Holmes on Foreman seems a favourable match up
    - Not sure who will play on Jones but I would think Cortez Groves would have more than a decent chance of shutting him down
    - looking at their schedule Souths look gone their next four are Cairns away, Gold Coast away, Melbourne home and Perth away so this could be their last win before xmas. if they lose here finals become a dream
    - Souths away form seems to be better than their home form this season

    Brisbane -4.5  1u
Brisbane are meant to be without Mckinnon and Bradshaw again, but with Rychart hitting form Brisbane still have a lot of offensive potential.

Townsville have won 5 in a row and are playing with a lot of energy and passion. However, four of these wins were against the bottom four teams the other was against melbourne who are in a slump.

Brisbane have only lost one game at home to Sydney.

    YTD: 55-38  +10.9u

Get rich quickly scheme fails miserably. Dragons looked terrible on offence and defence. Super coach Heal spent most of the game screaming at the referres for no apparent reason. Cortez looked disinterested. Burston and Hendrix demonstrate their advantage inside, ignore this and jack up rushed 3s instead.

Player coach experiment appears a major failure. Tricky decision as to whether you want Heal to just be coach, given if you told him he couldn't be he would likely spit the dummy and refuse to play and he has been close to their best.

    Gold Coast -1.5  2u
Wollongong may pull out of their slump after a couple weeks off but Gold Coast are the much better team for mine. Plus coach Joyce will be very keen to win in his return fo the club that sacked him and will make sure players take the game seriously.

Article with Adelaide saying they will play uptempo:

GRAB your aprons, fire up the barbie and get the missus slaving over salads ¿ the Sixers won't just be hoopin' tonight, they'll be hollerin' for a Pigs' skewer.

At least that's the plan for an Adelaide team which has been gagging on prison rations for its past couple of NBL evening meals.

"We're going to come out playing up-tempo, high energy basketball," 36ers coach Phil Smyth promised after a team meeting designed to banish the cobwebs of negativity enveloping his Hummer Championship battler. "We had a meeting before practice and talked about the negativity that creeps in when you're losing.

I read elsewhere that Ballinger is worse than this article suggests anyone heard he is out?

if you mean in the sydney melbourne game, i am not sure.

alot of their games lately have been low scoring wars. however sydney's offence continues to improve and melbourne's defence has been terrible in their last couple of games. i am staying away.

rod likes under though which should be more than enough.

    Adding:
    West Sydney +2.5  1u

Talk of Dench and Chappell being sacked, talk that Ballinger and Chappell have injuries.

The line has moved down. I don't think line moves are always that smart in the NBL and am happy to go against them. However, I do think Centrebet tends to have more info than some of the other bookmakers and they have -1.5 lower than anyone else i have seen.

Pretty speculative, but i think Adelaide will struggle to keep with the pigs if one of their imports is not at their best and I think this is what the line is saying.

Awesome you just did some capping for me, thanks for posting this mate was looking for exactly like this in the print media

As to Ballinger I think he only complained of back soreness but it wasn't anything serious. I know Maher has started training with the team again but isn't expected to play for at least another week or so, well definitely not tonight anyway

This suxers team is playing like they have given up for the season & I woudn't be surprised if they put in another stinker tonight. I mean the whole team is playing without energy or passion & Symthe just doesn't know how to get them to perform at their best. Pigs or no play for me....getting points is a bonus

    No worries rod.

    Adding:

Adelaide v West Sydney over 203.5 2u  (for a total of 4 units)

Found a pretty low line at Lasseters so decided to up the dose.

    Brisbane -10  2u
One forecast I look at based on Singapore's home form and Brisbane's away form predicts this to be fairly close - Brisbane by 4. Brisbane's road form has not been that impressive only winning 2 of 5 on their recent five game road trip, including a one point win over a struggling souths.

However, Singapore have only had four games where they have done better than 8 point losses  - two wins and two 6 point losses, plus thye have two 9 point losses. Average losing margin in their last five games (albeit 4 road games) 18 points.

With 9 minutes to go in Brisbane a couple of weeks ago Singapore only trailed by 2 points. Could they cover 18 for me? No, they wilted and lost by 19. This suggests Brisbane could cover this in the last few minutes if it is close.

When Sydney went to Brisbane they lead by around 30 and the half but got bored and Singapore came back to only lose by 9. This is the main danger that Brisbane take it easy. One reason I hope this will not be the case is Jeff Brown's strong first game the other night and that this means an even greater struggle for minutes when Mackinnon and Bradshaw return. I think there are alot of clubs that would be happy to play Mick Hill for 40 minutes a game whereas while I don't know how many minutes he averages I expect it is around 20, if not slightly under. If the lesser names don't perform they will struggle to get court time.

The other reason I am happy to bet against Singapore is the terrible performances of the other bottom three sides Souths and Wollongong this round. These two have joined Singapore as having no realistic chance of finals and have failed to play with the intensity required to be competitive. Hawks copped a 33 point beating at home to Gold Coast and Souths got pumped by 29 by a Darnell Mee less Cairns, plus they were hopeless when I backed them against NZ. Singapore's recent efforts don't suggest they will be any different.
