I was/am critical of them picking up Cortez Groves but he doesn't need 20+ for them to be successful.
They will probably be in alot of trouble if Burston and/or Ballinger get long term injuries.
I think Dr Ng is important. At his best he is close to the best guards in the comp IMO.
I rate them fourth or fifth at the moment and more like $8.

I'm not really seeing what you have there Bin regarding the 36's as they are not the same side as last year and the comp has improved. Not saying that the 'other' sides look all that good just yet, but IMO this could be either a last of a unit or a very good pick, I hope the later for your sakes

i agree, lots of different players and an interrupted preseason due to injuries. they have a fair bit of improving in them for mine.
I am not sure i would agree that the comp has improved. the playing talent may be slightly more concentrated although some of the better players have left the league making it not much different. I would argue without Goorgian the coaching talent is massively weaker and that knowledge and understanding of the game is possibly lower than it has ever been.
consider the Melbourne v NZ game the other night. The role of coaches appears first and foremost to argue every call with the referee. Both Westover and Lemanis carried on look pork chops from go to woe. NZ were completely unprepared for the game and came out playing possibly the worst defence in years. There don't seem to have any offensive plays beyond jack up the three.
I think the favourites NZ and Melbourne are overated. Townsville and Cairns lack quality. Wollongong look too old. I quite like GC and Perth but they are not standouts.

The American was signed by the Blaze to replace import Michael Joiner, who was released following Round 2.
Maxey is now expected to make his first NBL appearance fro the Blaze when they take on the Cairns Taipans at the Cairns Convention Centre on Wednesday night.
