For the fans, and the compulsive looking for action:
 
800m Yuriy Borzakovskiy (RUS) 5/1-1.5 units
I'm pretty pised off I didn't get this one at 8 to 1 a few days ago but Yuriy has been laying low so I wanted to wait.  He didn't disappoint, running under 1:43.  Only three people have done that since 2003.  On top of this, he won the gold in 04 and will have the kick to win what will be a championship style race.
 
1500m Bernard Lagat (USA) 6/1-2 units- I put this in another thread.  Two Olympic medals.  A world championship double and a steller kick.  All my other friends that follow the sport can't beleive he is not the odds on favorite.
Nick Willis (NZL) 150/1-0.1 units- He'll make the final and just ran a solid time in Monaco.  It's worth a lottery ticket for me.
 
I'll definitely be adding more.  I'm still waiting on some more lines and a little more research.

800m Youssef Saad Kamel (BRN) 40/1-1 unit
This one is down to 10 to 1 now.  He just ran the third fastest time of the season yesterday, barely losing to Borzakovskiy.  I feel great with this at 40 to 1.

800m Gary Reed (CAN) 150/1-0.5 unit

After seeing this, I came to the conclusion that the books know little about track and field, especially the middle and long distance races.  Reed is number six on the top time list for the season and placed fourth at the race in Monaco yesterday.  He would have run even faster had he not tripped over the rabbit.  And im getting roughly the same odds as the Minnesota Timberwolves winning the NBA Championship? Fire away.

I added another 0.5 unit on Gary Reed and put 1.5 units on Dayron Robles in the 110h at 4/5.  I'm looking at the steeple and trying to get some lines for the women's distance events.

Bid,who do you have winning the women's 100 and 200?Kerron Stewart is the favorite at +170!!!!Great odds for a favorite in the 100.Veronica Brown is the favorite in the 200 but the odds are much worse(-170).

I think the women's 100 is just so wide open that it's not worth betting.  I see six names that I wouldn't be surprised to take home the gold.
 
The 200 is pretty similar in my eyes.  I have a lean toward Felix but she doesn't get out of the blocks quite quick enough for me to put any money on this race.
 
The books usually have the sprint lines pretty accurate so I stay more with the distance stuff.

That's a pretty intriguing bet.  Both guys are right on the same level.  Yuriy seems to come up a little bigger on the world stage.  If I had to lean one way I'd go with Yuriy but I'd stay away from that line.

Adding Kemboi of Kenya at 3 to 1 for 1 unit in the steeple.  The Kenyans own the steeple more than any country owns any other olympic event.  They'll use team tactics to controll this race and Kemboi was the winner of the Kenyan trials in the event.  He doesn't have the top time going in but I like his chance of a win with his kick.

Steeple Gulnara Samitova-Galkina (RUS) 6/5- 1.5 unit
 
The Russians will dominate this event much like their Kenyan counterpats.  Samitova is the favorite and I like her odds much more then 6 to 5.

Thanks for the winner:)  I see Kemboi qualified athough his positionwasnt that great.  Do they tend to hold back in a race like this or Kemboi overmatched?

I also noticed Gary Reed is down to +2200 in my book now, looks like you found A LOT of value there hopefully he can surprise.

Typically, most distance runners (the smart ones at least) will try and qualify for the finals while conserving as much energy as possible.  Kemboi looked good in the prelims from what I saw.  He should be a bigger favorite than 3 to 1.

I cant beleive that Lagat did not even qualify for the final.  What a joke.  I didnt see the race but the end result is a huge disappointment.  He was my most confident play.

im pissed this doping bastard Ramzi is going to win the 1500m.  Even more so that I didnt put money on him when he was 9 to 1.  I thought I had a unit on this as soon as it opened but it turns out i just planned on putting in the wager and never really did it.

Agreed.  I was just reading an article about him in which he seemed disappointed in how he was running and knew what he needed to do to correct it.  He seemed very confident.

I'm thinking he must have come down with some sort of injury leading up to the Olympics.  His performance was very uncharactersitc.
