I knew who you were referring to, never said you were referring to me.
Answer me this:
Why is it that you join covers in January 2008, and wait 10 months before your first ever post?
Judging by the way you spell criticise, you're American. So for your first ever post, your first ever test of the water, in the 'other' (nee Australian forum) you come up with this gem:
BOL & hope to see you soon, getting back to your awsome winning ways!

Foster's may taste like cat's piss, but I still preferred it to all the English souts, beers & lagers while staying in London... had no complaints whatsoever
take care

Just wanted to add something regarding the question of the 'predictability' of the NBL. It does seem like a lot of big underdogs have been covering (not sure of the exact stats), and I guess that does point to the NBL being a little bit "unpredictable". But, like any sport that you try to beat the books at, knowledge beyond that provided by statistics alone will almost always be to your advantage.
Take tonight for example. Wollongong's results haven't been too bad of late, while the Blaze have been awful for the majority. But the Hawks have never, or at least in recent times, been particularly dominant or consistent at home and definitely not a team to be relied upon to win by double digits, and on the other side, the Blaze, while boasting a completely shithouse playing roster who will almost certainly win the spoon, were coming down desperate for their first win.
The statistics available to those of you who do research from online resources probably do not indicate these things. Hopefully that doesn't appear to be aftertiming or anything - just using an example to illustrate my point. With the NBL being in such turmoil I do think that formlines are extremely difficult to find at the moment, though. There has been a high amount of player transition with two teams folding and teams are finding it difficult to gel, and it might be another couple of months before we see 3/4 dominant teams begin to emerge. But just as it is difficult to bet the game, it is difficult to set lines for, and that is giving us the benefit of inconsistent teams like Townsville and Wollongong laying close to double digit pointspreads when they really aren't warranted.
Anyway hopefully that isn't preaching too much just trying to offer a bit of insight. Rod you know you will find your handle soon you are way too good at this for it to be any other way.

It's ironic, my first post about the NBL season 2 months ago was talking about how there has been plenty of changes in each of the rosters and the fact that there was no TV coverage until mid October meaning capping NBL games would be extremely difficult. Consequently I was going to take it slow for the first few weeks until I get a handle of the changes, however that never happened.
It's more ill discilpline than anything from my part because I'll still stand by my thoughts that the NBL is the easiest sporting competition to make a profit in the long term. There is no great volumes of money that is held by the sportsbooks on the NBL therefore there are no where as many "sharps" correctly line discrepancies as there are like in the big 4 American sports
But like in all sports, you do require that element of luck to be on your side. Breakers blowing the cover in OT on Wednesday night and then the Hawks blowing a 17 point lead mid way through the 4Q last night doesn't help the cause. However these are not excuses, just saying that it can work the other way as well and invariably once you can get on a decent run in the NBL there is no looking back.

Here's hoping Rod. I guess I can take solice from the fact that I called last nights game right. The Hawk's should have covered and the total looked to be going over until the final two minutes.
So although I lost both, maybe I'm getting close.....maybe
