The stock market, a true indicator on how our economy is doing was at 7949 when former President Obama took office and when he left it sat at 19627. An increase of 150%.
Trump left office with stock market at 30390, up 50%.
Today it sits at 43275. Up 30%
Unemployment under Obama went from 10% to 4.6%. During the first half of Trumps term it fell to 3.5%.
Late 2019 the Unemployment rate slope flattens and begins a downward trend before Covid.
Trump rode the coattails of the Obama/Biden recovery.
Let's look at his policies during his first term
TRUMP POLICIES
- TAX CUTS
The only real legislation passed. Trillion dollar Tax cuts for the wealthy and the Corps. Nothing for the ordinary American or the less fortunate.
- the BORDER
Trump policy was "build the wall and Mexico paying for it".
No wall
No money from Mexico
No legislation passed.
No legislation of substance introduced and enacted in Congress during his term.
And then he goes on record to kill the bipartisan legislation introduced by the Biden administration solely because killing the bill WORKS FOR HIM right now and SERVES HIS INTEREST.
DEREGULATION
Trumps calling card. Well he is a Capitalist.
Deregulation serves the sole interest of one. The Corporation! At the expense of everything and everyone else. Deregulation hurts consumers, employees, our Community and our environment.
Who Lobbies the President and our lawmakers for deregulation? Ordinary Americans?
INFRASTRUCTURE
Trump promised a bill and failed to deliver. Infrastructure helps ordinary everyday Americans.
The Biden/Harris team delivered an infrastructure bill and republican lawmakers went home and took credit for it all the while voting NO.
HEALTH CARE
Trump promised a bill in two weeks, countless times and delivered nothing. In fact it was the late John McCain who saved the affordable care act passed under Obama/Biden.
Trump failed on prescription drugs and Biden/Harris delivered.
Workers Rights
Check out Trumps record at the NLRB. It is deplorable. He does not support or respect workers rights to organize. It is in direct contrast to the Capitalist and their beliefs.
Trumps BEST POLICY
inviting the Taliban to Camp David. Befriending and sucking up to Xi, Un, Putin and Orban, simply because they CONTROL people.
Trump is wrong about Afghanistan and his position that the weapons and machinery come out first and our young men and women last at wars end. Would you want your loved ones left there without a thing to defend themselves with? Losing weapons and machinery is collateral damage at wars end.
COVID 19
Our generational pandemic.
The commander in chief whose first job is to protect us failed miserably.
Trump lied, deceived and misled all Americans about how serious Covid was and Americans died. (See Bob Woodward interview of Trump on 2-7-2020)
Trumps took the choice away from every American on how best to protect their family and community.
Why? Because it worked for him and his sole interest.
Forward, The Country gets shut down and the supply chain chaos ensues.
Trump "the victim" blames China, Fauci, the CDC and then Biden. Tells you it will be gone in two weeks and to inject bleach.
Our generational pandemic!!!!
Operation Warp Speed. That's his job. Every President would take this action.
Then with more than 10 months to the 2020 election he lays the ground work and starts whining that the election is going to be rigged. 10 months out!!!!
After he lost fair and square he facilitates January 6th, our generations POLITICAL UPRISING! Unheard of and must not be tolerated.
And no January 6th doesn't compare to the BLM protests and the like. They cannot be compared. The BLM protests and the like was a SOCIAL UPRISING over SOCIAL INJUSTICE. Social uprising helped build the FABRIC of our Country.
TRUMP is then indicted for January 6th. His followers convicted and put in prison. Trump steals our nations documents and pressures Georgia lawmakers to find votes.
And for the first time ever our President asks for IMMUNITY from our nations stacked highest Court. Why? What?
Only the GUILTY go there.
Lastly, Trump, "the victim."
I contend Americans and the majority of voters have grown real tired of Trump always painting himself as a victim and those who support him constantly making EXCUSES for what he says, how he says it and his out of line criminal behavior. Do we make CONSTANT EXCUSES for our Children? Do we seek to hold our children accountable for all their actions? Do we not tell our children "we earn what we get"
Trump the feckless FELON has earned what he is getting. He is NO VICTIM, stop making excuses.
Vote BLUE down ticket, hold Trump accountable.
